Am I imagining things again...

Didn't there used to be a forum for Geraniums/Pelargonium - Geraniaceae?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes there certainly was!

Yes there was. It was launched in '02, but last year only had about 40 or 50 active threads all year :o(

Thanks Terry, I've posted my info in the PlantFiles in lieu of the now defunct forum.

boo hoo--I planted some 20 different h. geraniums (many from Robin Parer) and thought we would have some good discussion about this pretty plant this summer!

It seems like the Brits are wild about them http://www.hardygeraniums.com/default.asp but they just don't hold the fascination of Americans. I don't know why--I think they are rather interesting...oh, well. Sometimes things take a while to cross the Atlantic and catch on here, I guess....t.

You can discuss always use Garden Talk and/or the Perennials forum to discuss them. If it starts to look like there's enough interest, we can bring the forum out of its state of "suspended animation" and put it back on active status.

Yes, we bought 3 different colors, 25 of each, 2 years ago for resale. I think we sold 2 plants. I thought they were so popular!

PS - I don't care for them either.

Don't know whether we should continue these thoughts on this forum or move to another location, but here's one last thought regarding these wonderful plants.

They are evergreen perennials here in Northern California, grow fast, smell good, never complain, rarely get pests, come in all sizes and shapes and leaf forms. And some of them even have very nice flowers! I guess in this case locations like MN and OH with their cold winter climates wouldn't make them quite as appealing as I find them. :-)

For the record, I LOVE the ones that I have. You may not get a ton of flowers for all the foliage but the foliage is interesting and the flowers are pretty. :)

That's probably why the English like them, their winters are mild too.
