DG is so famous...

Let's post our favorite stories here.

Mine happened yesterday at the Southeastern Flower Show in Atlanta. Fellow member MSampler and I stopped at the 'Messenger' (Eden Bioscience) booth to thank them for their product and say 'hello'. First, they were happy that we knew of their product, but when we told them we were from Dave's Garden, the two women went wild. They said they were thrilled to get to meet some actual members, like we were experts or something, lol. We had to assure them, that we were just avid gardeners and that they too, could join. Yep, they now have the famous addy here ;) Apparently that whole company kept track of the thread by KRNYSGIRL on their product 'Messenger' http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/451274/

Another neat thing is that they offered to come give a talk to our GARU. I might set this up if our attendees wish.

"Vi" you were so smart to go into the Eden Bioscience booth at the S.E. Flower Show! As far as I'm concerned, YOU were the "Messenger" from D.G.!

I have to add to Vi's story. A friend and I met up with Vi, Angie, and Mike. Vi told us the story, and my friend (a new gardener) had never heard of Messenger. We went to the booth and started talking to the lady there about the great things that Messenger does for plants. I told her that I was also a DG'er and she told us to take as many samples as we wished! The samples are for 1 gallon applications. How sweet was that?

I called a tailor today to have some pants shortened. Her business was down town, but it blew away in the storms so she is working out of her house. After trading hurricane stories (Big topic of conversation around here), she mentioned that she was out in her yard tending to her flowers and rebuilding some beds. Well, of course I asked her if she belonged to DG and she did not. SOooooooooooo, I went into a description of all the activities and the great people that belong, and she is really eager to join! I never mess a chance to tell people about the blessings of DG.

Dang, Carmen, I didn't know you got more samples! I would have gone back too, lol!

I sell a few things on Ebay and include a little flyer with info on the rest of the things I also sell. I make a reference about DG so in case the person doesn't know might look DG up.

I sold some plant labels thru Ebay to a lady that lives in my same town. Instead of mailing her labels, I was going to run an errand and would be in her area so I just dropped off the package instead & refunded the shipping cost. I included one of my flyers and she called to thank me & then asked me about DG. I explained to her about it but I don't know if she ever joined. She's more into Cacti so she could be there most of the time & I don't know it. She & I talked for a while cause she said she didn't have anyone in her family that would care to listen to her talking about her plants. I told her that is why DG is so great so I hope she did join. I'll have to ask her next time I run into her.
