Hi everyone. Want to show you what I did, er bought yesterday! I've been drooling over this bike for a long time now and yesterday I just drove to the dealer and bought it! Didn't tell a soul - not even my husband. He's out of town anyway.
OK, here she is! It's a Honda Interceptor. I sold my old bike last year and have just felt lost without one! Cheaper than a horse and less maintenance! lol!!
Here's a couple of pics. I don't have her in my possession yet b/c the dealer is lowering it for me first. :)
Nicole
Kinda flipped yesterday!!
Do you think you can root me one of those?
Congrats!!
Hee hee! Sure! Might have a few seeds in the fall too. LOL!!! :) Thanks
OMG That is SOOOOOOO gorgeous! I hope you're not gonna be in the doghouse with your DH though. I mean, it's not like going out and buying sheets without telling him LOL
-Julie
Hee hee! Na, I don't think so. He has a Harley and believe me the Honda is WAAAY cheaper than that! The only bad thing is when I told him (via the phone) he said, does this mean I can just show up with a 4-wheeler? I said NO - I just spent all our money! LOL!!
ROTFL Well, sometimes men aren't rationale about "fair" in the toys department. My DH spent weeks procrastinating getting the camera fixed (that HE broke!) and I ended up actually taking it to the shop. Then he was all "well what else could we do" in a resigned sort of tone about spending the (equivalent of) $100 to get it fixed. That was less than a week ago. Then he comes up to me today and says that he's going to buy a laptop so he can sit outside in the garden and "work" (he works from home most of the time....which actually means he spends far more time than he should on debate sites, game sites, whatever else he shouldn't be doing instead of working LOL). So he's gonna shell out a couple thousand dollars without blinking an eye for his toy....but he was all stuffy about spending the 100 bucks to fix MY toy that HE broke! Ugh! Men and their toys can sometimes drive me crazy.....ROTFL But at least when he's out in the garden with his laptop, he may appreciate more why I "need" my camera each and every day many many times :-)
-Julie
That is so true!! Most of my gardening hobby addictions are cheap compared to his Harley 'problem.' Hee hee!
Well there ya go. I guess it's your turn to spend a few bucks :)
Nah, I just keep buying plants, pots, bags of dirt. That's what makes me happy :-). Going out and spending a couple thousand dollars on some single toy just isn't my thing. I get excited about cool hose reels, nifty garden clippers, and vibrant colors on new flowers at the garden center. AND using my camera to record all the wonderful things I see throughout my day :-) I wasn't complaining about DH spending the money. If it makes him happy, I'm all for it......I was just noting that often men grumble when they think their wives are spending money unecessarily....then they turn right around and buy some nonsense under the pretense of necessity ;-). Men are funny....that's all :-)...at least the men in my life are funny LOL
-Julie
Julie I think ALL men are funny! Ha ha!
Speaking of garden accessories. There is a bird bath in Charley's Greenhouse and Garden that has a solar powered fountain in it! I want it! Won't be getting that anytime soon though. LOL It's cool if it would actually work!
I think you got a sweet deal! I got a greenhouse then my hubby got a television that costs twice as much as my greenhouse. Now he wants a truck. Pushy little thing, huh? :)
Boy oh boy....see what happens when I turn my back!? *Humpf* LOL
Good grief how can a TV cost more than a greenhouse? Wow!! Guess I better keep my eyes open for things just 'showing up' now...
More proof that men are from Mars and women (the practical? ones) from Venus. Hehehe.
Oh yes, this motorcycle is very practical - no really - LOL!!!
I can save gas riding it to work/home/hmmm give me more time I will think up more reasons!! HA - course don't know where my son will go! HA ha! I usually am practical but something just snapped yesterday!
A mitey nice pair of wheelers there, NC !! ... Mite proud fer ya too!! ...
Now .. jes keep yaseff extree super safe, and don't take no more risks than absolutely necessary to keep that lil 'blessing' feller there .. well assured, of being able to continue to count on his wonderful Mom being there with/for him .. always, too! -OK-?-
Sooo .. be sure to keep yer chin up, yer guard on full power, a firm resolve, yer goals high, ya pace slow, all yer hurdles achievable, and proceed cautiously .. but, keep your expectations reasonable and yer priorities strait!! And of all things .. keep the love of that lil tyke, on full throttle!! ... And never deviate; no matter what the wind may blow in - or the direction, it may blow you! (*huggerooners to you both*) I took a gander of your news .. on another thread.
Wishing .. the very best of life and love for you NC, and hopin' that God reveals His wonderful plans for you and yours!!

Beautiful bike, Nicole. Why don't you just swing by here and give me a ride? ;)
Thanks you two. Magpye you have such the way with words! Thanks too Smilen! I can't wait to get my hands on it!!! It was so warm her Saturday! :) I'll be over in a sec! hee hee!
LOL.. You are like my hubby. He wanted Harley so bad but Honda is cheaper! He had one Honda! lol. Beautiful bike!
Thanks minischnuz!
You're not alone in your love of cycles, either. Hostanquilts is a motorcycle rider. You'd never know it by looking at her.
I know where you all are coming from, every time I get something new for gardening he always wants another motorcycle and he has thirteen of them and a street rod and a custom truck. He always says for every $100.00 I spend he can spend $10,000. How is that for man's logic. Just went this weekend to the Cincinnati Home and Garden show and was looking at screen/glass porches, I already have a screened in porch but would like it glassed for the winter months to keep my tropicals in instead of the bedroom, now I know this will cost a few bucks and then he says it will cost me 2 harleys LOL.
by the way RIDE SAFE!
Good Grief thinkdirt!! I thought mine was bad! LOL!!
I will! Promise!
Nicole
nc gardenaddict,
saw the picture of your bike. You stated that the dealer is lowering it for you.
can you explain? the last bike I was on was a 1948 Indian. prcastle
Thinkdirt, Goodness!!! Life is just too short!! What is his problem??? $1 for $1 is fair what he is proposing is NOT!!!!
Judy
Judy been that way for 35 years LOL but I always get even every time I see something new he has bought, i go on a shopping spree with the credit card of course as with gardening in mind and I give him the bill.
JoAnn
lol lol
Prcastle, they lowered the height of the bike using a kit. I am 5'6" and my heels weren't touching the ground. I was a little wary of that - I like to touch!
I now have it in my possession and have ridden it a few times including riding it to work today. I love it!!! I still want to get some material shaved off the seat a bit which will bring me even lower to the ground.
I have a pic of me sitting on it at home. I will try to remember to post it!
By the way - it was 37 degrees this morning - OUCH!!!!
:)
Nicole
Nice looking bike!!! Looks like you will have lots of fun.
My husband always says we can't afford this or that....... one day gathered up all the receipts I could find and showed him he had spent over $1000.00 in less than a year, just on upgrading ~his~ computer. He was speechless for awhile.
nice bike ncgardenaddict..... I love going for a ride after a full day of gardening........ Is this your first bike ? How long have you been riding ....? 37 degrees..... get out the chaps.....
Hee hee! Funny how you can nickel and dime yourself to death!!
It's my second bike - my first was a 250 and I wouldn't ride it say -to work because it was to darn slow!!! Been riding 2 years I think? I actually took the course when I was pregnant with my son but didn't get a bike until later obviously..
It's finally broken in and my dh took it out last night to 'get on it.' Well.... he has a Harley - not too quick compared to mine. He dropped the clutch doing 90 in second gear and did a wheelie!! Thank goodness he is an experienced rider or ... You won't see ME doing that kind of craziness!!!! :)
Nicole
Now if we could just figure out how to squeeze more time for riding and more time for gardening in a day we'd be in heaven .....
You're bike does look pretty fast....... mine is more of a cruiser..... I moved up last summer from an 800 to an 1100 for the same reason to difficult to keep up with the DH on his bigger bike.....
Hee hee! I won't be pushing limits though. I like my face! Well I want to keep it anyway! :)
I tell you something though - mixing gardening sore back from Saturday with riding a 'crotch rocket' which also 'works' the back, is well... er.. interesting to say the least.. I will either have a really strong back or be really mad at myself later on!
Still fun though!!
Congrats!!!! Whooee!
Hee hee! I rode it today and it's GORGEOUS outside!!!
