Hey Molly! Good to hear from you. Yea...I know the "lazy" part of my personality too. LOL Problem is I got so used to looking through all those search results and usually found a bunch of things I liked and/or wanted. hehehe
The other thing with having the general search was that I actually realized that a plant *may not* be the group I thought it was in. THAT in itself was educational for me.
Not to worry...I'll get used to the system sooner or later. In the meantime, I'm *actually* getting my laundry done. (Now...I just have to figure out WHERE the heck I put my new rosemary seedlings...can you believe I misplaced a whole tray? hehehe I sure hope I find them before they need water again!)
And yes...I feel sorry for us 'northerners' too. I'll be M5 is having a real hissy this morning.
Hey M5...I've been meaning to ask you if you're planning on going to the Iowa RU? Maybe we could go together?
I'm off to find my rosemary...and put another load in the washer. :-D
~julie~
Coffee and...part 9 :-D
Julie,
Lucky for you Rosemary will wait a little while without water (not too long tho). They'll show up soon.
My brother and SIL are coming down today for the weekend. Leoncia says she has grown some bulbs she wants to give me. I did a terrible thing, I got her hooked on gardening, told her how to maintain a micro climate on her south wall (they live in Orlando). I give her plants to grow, she has given me 4 o'clock seeds, (which I actually germinated and they are blooming at 4) and I have a Charles Grimaldi extra she will get today.
This addiction is catching on really fast.......
Darius, I wish I knew if you were free and had thought of it sooner, you could come down for a visit. They haven't left yet, they go right by Kissimmee.
Molly
:^)))
Good morning. I'm just sticking my nose in the door for a second, no time for anything this morning, I have serious house cleaning to do. Company that was comming mid week have changed their plans and will be here Sunday...... yikes, that's tomorrow! See ya later, it might be a few days.
Molly, plant addiction is something I don't need to be told about. hehehe I have it BIG time! LOL
:-D I *found* my rosemary... I'd stuck it a flat with my strawflowers and gomphrena when they started sprouting, but I forgot to put a seperator bar between the peat pellets. It doesn't make much difference because I have little "labels" made from 1/4 pieces of white venetian blinds and a paperclip. They just didn't pop out at me like they would have with a divider.
Mary :-O don't you just love when people change their minds? Especially when we have other things that take up our time instead of cleaning house. Don't work too hard!
I potted up 3 HUGE elephant ear bulbs this morning. It's the first time I've ever grown them so I have no idea what to expect or when to expect them to break the surface. I sure hope they don't take over the basement before it's warm enough to get them outside. hehehe (Shades of the 'Little Shop of Horrors?)
I think it might be time to make DH his special Pineapple upside down cake. I have a recipe that will knock your socks off! Nothing like a regular recipe. This one has egg whites whipped up and folded into the batter and uses pineapple juice for a good part of the liquid. Yummy! I'll save y'all a chunk for later.
~julie~
Julie, you're not playing fair... you can't make us all drool and not post the recipe!
The snow is already melting today - it is absolutely gorgeous outside! Talk about great packing snow, this is it!!
I'm just finishing up the last load of laundry. I finally made the powder homemade laundry soap, posted in a different forum. I've got some other liquid left so I'm going to start using it next week. I sure hope it works as well as folks claim. I read the box sides on the Borax last night and noticed directions for pet urine. DD brought Oreo along this morning when she came to pickup DGD, and while DH was petting him, Oreo peed and pooped on him. OOPS!! That did not go over well! A little ran over his lap and onto the couch and floor so I did the Borax recommended treatment. Still waiting for it to dry and then have to vacuum it - then I'll see how good it works.
Time for coffee and euchre...... :)
LOL
That's ok Kooger...DH came up from his model building with a sinus headache so I didn't make it anyway. :-( It's not all that good the second day. (Maybe that's only because I like nice and warm. hehehe)
Have you played euchre online yet? I used to...before my satellite connection downgraded our bandwidth (still charge me the same amount of money, tho!) and now I get the "turtle" and people don't like to play with me. :-( On second thought, it might be because I have a tendency to *beat* them hahaha
Blooms...that's a beaut! And SO like a married couple...especially in my house when garden season gets here. (He's already silently complaining at all the work I have for "him" to do.) ;-)
~julie~
No online euchre yet, no money till I get paid - funny how that works!
Kooger...if you have internet, you can play euchre with our software without "money" ...but then of course if you're the wagering kind...LOL (just kidding! ;-))
~julie~
WOW! Gotta tell y'all what a great day I had today!!! Stacey (Floridian) and her husband drove over from near Tampa to pick me up and drive to the east coast near Cape Canaveral to an old Florida Scrub area. Hiked in a bit, with a bag of raw peanuts... the wild Florida Scrub Jays will fly down to land on your hand if there's a peanut in it! No words can really describe what it's like.
Stacey emailed a great photo of me with a scrub jay on my hand, but since it's her photo, I need to ask permission to post it, and I'm sure it's past bedtime now, or at least past computer time.
Whew, what an experience!
I leave tomorrow for my brother's house in Jacksonville and hope to leave there for home on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Awww Darius! That's wonderful! I just love it when I get to hold a bird on my hand. Usually in my case it's because one got stuck on the screened porch...nothing as neat as your experience though.
Glad to hear you're getting closer to coming home.
Hope Mary is surviving the "company's coming" AND the lambing at the same time. We're thinking about ya, Mary.
It's time for a new thread...
Here's the link...

See ya there!

darius, I think the worst of the cold is finally over. I have a lot of daffodils blooming right now. Over the weekend, I spread composted manure and bone meal on all my roses. The whole property needs that treatment.......
