Let the Games Begin!

Carnival Mix is a larger flower than many of the others. The blooms can be as big as a snap dragon, though usually slightly smaller. The foliage may be larger, as well. I can't really recall. It is a draping plant, while some of the others are a bit less so, as well. I've grown the blue/white, red/white, paintbox, and some other cultivars I can't recall, and the Carnival Mix seems to be larger in general. I've also noticed that commercial nemesia seeds do not seem to have the fuzzy outer coating that the collected seeds do, so they must fall off during processing.

Well, weezingreens,it was your pictures in the plant files that made me HAVE to have Carnival mix!! They are spectacular.

Carnival mix seems to produce quite well form collected seeds. When ready, the pods are quite papery. These fellows are a smaller, compact plant of blue & white or red & white.

This is 'Paintbox'. There are some lovely combinations of bicolored blooms.

Ok,next year I'll have to try "paintbox' and "Tapestry".I have a weakness for nemesia-have grown the blue and white and red and white varieties. They don't particulary like Ohio summers, but I try to give them some shade during the hottest part of the day.Her is a photo of my plants.I just potted them up into 4'' pots last night.they are in a coldframe.Give me your opinion.

They look great, Golgi! If you plan to put them in hanging pots, I'd do that soon. The way they are heading up, they'll want to bloom one of these days.

Okay, now I have to have some. Woe is me, too many flowers, too little room.

Oh,I KNOW!! I always have way too many plants started, but I end up squeezing them in somewhere!

Louisville, KY

Too many flowers , too little space, too much fun don't you just love all of it?

Gilmer, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, sure we love it!!!! That's the thing about addicts, just can't stop with the plants. If there's not enough room we just build another flower bed by the mail box or something!!! lol
