The ruby throated hummingbirds are on the move!

Yippee!!! I finally saw my hummers this weekend! And they're up to their usual antics, buzzing us and each other. I am so relieved. I have lots of blue jays and cardinals at their feeder in one part of the yard, finches at their feeder, but the hummers disappeared for almost 3 weeks. Now everybody's here!

Jdee, have you noticed that anything's blooming in the wild? My hummers disappeared about the same time the honeysuckle started blooming. Anyway, keep cleaning and refilling the feeders because they'll come back. Let us know what happens.

I've seen it and will but, you probably won't like it. :-)

Hey all,

I just got back from vacation, and have been running around, trying to get things back to normal, so I don't know if my hummer has come back. I did get to see hummers though. We went to Alabama to visit Dh's mother. She lives out by the lake, on a quiet, dead end street. She constantly had them at her feeder, so at least I got to see them. lol

Hey, Jen!

Hey, John. Sorry I didn't answer sooner. Since we've gotten home, I've been going crazy, unpacking, dusting, watering plants, and just trying to get the house back to normal. I just haven't been posting much lately.

edited to add this link to a thread I started before leaving, and updating when I got home. It's not about hummers, so you don't have to look at it. I just thought you might like to see my pictures.

Ok, I've moved one of my feeders to the tree out front. Maybe they'll see it there. I also bought another feeder (that makes three). It's a saucer type. I want to see if they like it better. I know,,,I'm grasping at straws.

Nice feeder, Jennifer.

Thanks, John. I just hope they'll come to it now that it's so visible. I refilled my feeders, and put the rest in one of mom's mason jars, and into the fridge. It's so funny looking. I hope someone doesn't open the fridge to get a coke or something, see the jar, and think I've got moonshine. lol

They're in for a surprise when they take a sip!
