Beautiful photographs Clare. I'd love to see more photographs of your garden.
Clare, is Duke an ole boy or did he just gray early (like me, lol)? He's a cutie and all of your plants and photos are wonderful, thank you oh so much for giving us a chance to enjoy all of your work, it shows!!!! What's your temp now, high/low??? Then, what does your temp do from here forward?? Are your brugs ever dormant???
Great picture show. I love them!! THANKS Clare!! Your Rosabelle is such a pretty brug. I love that shape.
Oh my Clare....such pretty pics! I'm so jealous! I'm wanting to see blooms now so bad! I especially love your Rosabelle!
Oh my!!!! Is that long lost Brinda??? So GOOD to see you here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL...Woooooooohooooooooo......I feel like a new woman today! You're too funny Kell!
Now I've gotta get off my rump and mail out all these cuttings that I've promised that have been living on my kitchen counter! LOL
Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for the kind comments.
Thank you, Sherry. You are sweet. Yes, my boy is an old man. He turned 11 yesterday. He lost his adopted sister Dutchess died this year, and he misses her and never lets me out of his sight so he is always in my pictures! The high's here are in the 60's or 70's during the day and mid 40's at night. It will get warmer and warmer until summer when high's are in the 80's and 90's and 60's and 70's at night. I don't watch the temps very closely in the summer, but I should to get a better idea. I watch them very closely in the winter! My brugs never go dormant, but they do stop blooming for a couple of months from December through February. Ecuador Pink is in the ground and is usually experiences some branch dieback. A couple of others had some minor branches die back, but nothing significant.
I almost bought a bow tie vine ( is that the right name??) last year. I saw it at a nursery and it was calling out to me. But for once I thought twice and realized I do not have the room and I do believe it needs warmer weather. But I am so fascinated with it Clare!! How big is yours?
Great pics.
Duke is such a good boy to keep his eye on you all the time, since Dutchess is no longer there to share the responsibility. I love the old ones, they are the best and they're just like people - they cannot be replaced. But, like people, if you can love one, you can love many.
That is interesting re your brugs not blooming Dec - Feb, that's the time that Monica says they should take a rest. Of course mine don't bloom then either, but then they don't always bloom in the other months either, ha! I'd say that my temps here, highs and lows, are about 10 degrees off yours, which, of course means deep freeze in the winter and out the top in the summer...
Sherry, I agree with you. You are so right and so wise. Thanks for the kind words. Dutchess was indeed a family member and is missed terribly.
Yes, it is pretty mild here at both ends.
Here are just a couple more pictures that I took today.

Clare, you must stay in the yard all the time, not just to work but enjoy the beautiful plants. I have a non gardner pal who lives in CA, she knows zero about plants, we are dog pals, and every time she sends me doggie photos there is some drop dead gorgeous plant in the pic. I ask her what they are and she doesn't have a clue. I should be so lucky!!!
