With your permission.

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Dave,
I have never met a stranger, and chat with almost everyone in a garden shop or nursery.

I would liike permission to use the For Gardeners, By Gardeners logo to print some invitational cards.

They would say, please join me and 130,000+ Gardeners from around the world at Dave's Garden.com.

Thank you,

Sidney

I always end up writing it down for them anyhow. lol

We've always encouraged folks to print stuff and hand out, and I think it's a great idea.

I'll be preparing some stuff for you in the coming days.

Thank you, telling people about Dave's garden is a special gift I give people.
;>)

"I'll be preparing some stuff for you in the coming days. "

Yay! (I'll be back at the farmers' markets this year! Perfect place for hand-outs!)

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Excellent idea shoe, which farmers market do you sell at, being I'm still on the road alot?

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Dave, will you post the "stuff" once it's prepared? I'd like to spread the word, too!

Yes, definitely!

dave

In the commuter parking lot I walk through to catch my train each day I have passed a car that has a license plate that reads "IMAGARDNR", for the past nearly 4 years. I finally printed out the welcome to dave's garden page and left it in an envelope on the windshield of the car, with a note that said "From a Fellow Gardener, thought you might be interested in this". Never met the person, he or she has a parking spot that is so close to the station, the car must get there before 6AM, and I go through around 8. Always happy to pass the word about Dave's.

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

Sidney, when you do, please note there is neither an apostrophe nor a space in 'davesgarden.com'.

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

okey dokey, I am glad Dave is going to work something up for us, I'm sure he'll get it right.

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Double check just in case!

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Ohhh, alright!

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Dave, do you have anything yet? I'll be attending some free "classes" at my favorite nursery, would like to hand something out.

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

I have a couple nurseries in mind too. :-)

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Please.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

I am constantly meeting people in the garden centers and at the open markets...I would love to be able to give them an intro to DG!!

Carol

Well, other priorities have come up and it doesn't look like I'll be able to get this done very soon. Is there anything at all that you need from me in order to get you started? I have a high-res copy of our logo - do you want that?

dave

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Yes thanks, we'll commitee something here for those of us who aren't so adapt.
My vision is a card that has our vining logo. It would say;

Please meet me and over 143,000 other gardeners at
http://davesgarden.com/
Where great gardens and dirty fingernails are the norm.
You'll recognize me there as_____________________.

What do ya'll think? Who can put it togeather? Please, I think we have permission.
Sidney

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

(Actually it's 143,000+ members now - wanna raise your number to "over 140,000 other gardeners"? *smile*)

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

done, the "over" equals +. Is that okay?

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Get to work Sidney. Then submit it for approval. ;-)

John

You definitely have permission. Please do give me a copy of anything you produce, so that I can check it out, plus make it available to anyone else.

Here is the logo:

Transparent GIF: http://davesgarden.com/~dave/DavesGardenVine.gif [88K]

High-res EPS: http://davesgarden.com/~dave/DavesGardenVine.eps [226K]

Dave

Dave,

Would you be willing to make a hperlinked transparent gif that we can put on our web pages? (See http://www.wunderground.com/geo/BannerPromo/US/TX/Alice.html )Perferably with the wording, "Meet me and over 143,000 other gardeners at " at the top.

I tried to do it with the gif you provided, but scaled down it looked REALLY bad...

How is this one:

http://davesgarden.com/~dave/meetme.gif

dave

That'll work!

Dave,

Now that I have it on my site it seems a bit big. Would you resize it to only 50 pixels high?

That's about as small as the logo can get while still looking recognizable. :( You can try resizing it down some more, but I don't think it'll look good anymore.

dave

The logo itself is 50 pixels high. What I'd like is to get the lettering to visually fit that height. I plan to make the background transparent and emit the green border so it won't clash with the blue background on my site.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

This is just thrown together from the .gif files Dave posted, so it's a little dithery, but maybe it'll do in a hurry.

That's a great start, we can have several to choose from.

How about this?

I like it maggiemoo. It needs to be small, readable and reproducible (sp?...who cares?).

Good Morning,

I would like to attach this image into emails and such. Without using the "paint program" (I can't make that pencil move straight) How do I insert my DG name on the dotted line and make it a permanent part of the picture?

I tried to copy from here, but there was no paste option on the picture.

Thanks for your help.

Molly

Crossville, TN

I like it Maggiemoo....can you remove the copyright for our use? Is it printable in post card size? I have to get DD to help me with sizing things. LOL Jo

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Jo,

I'm just darting in and out from work right now, but I'll be happy to post it without the copyright when I get home. It should be no problem to print it on a 6x4 postcard (index card). I just pasted the gif in a Word document and re-sized it to fit my need. (I want to print it on 6x4 index cards, but also want to print up some in business card sizes.)

I'm also trying to create a version in Word, so people can type in their own username.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks Maggie,

I think that's what I'm looking for. Will keep watching for you.

Molly

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Looking good guys. Good work!

Crossville, TN

Thanks, Maggiemoo...Jo

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Okay. I'm no computer and/or graphics expert, like so many around here, but here is what I have. First, the earlier image without the copyright:

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

I also created this in a Word document, that I'll be happy to e-mail to anyone who asks. You can just remove my name and type in your own. I have sized it to print out on 6x4 index cards, but it should be easy enough to re-size it to whatever dimensions you wish.

Here is a picture of that document, with my user ID:
