Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It sure looks like Creamsickle. She has a nice smell too. Very pretty.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It looks so pretty! I hope it turns for you! I haven't figured out what gets them to turn orange. I will have to pay more attention this summer to the environment when they all turn. Sometimes there i sjust a hint of orange. I tususally takes 2 or 3 days orhtem to turn.

It looks like it to me, And the bloom is huge. Creamsickle blooms are huge.

And look at all you r brugs. You are going to be busy this summer!

glenmora, LA(Zone 8a)

oh i have over 400 brugs rooted in my greenhouse......and would you believe that those 2 blooms smell up my whole greenhouse!mmmmmm........lol.....i could sit out there all the time....lol......um the last 2 blooms turned a very light shade of orange but only the last day of their life, and yes they are large blooms.i love it,was just trying to make sure the botanicals place on the net(where i bought them)did send me true creamsickle...i think they are the ones who invented it......but sometimes mix ups happen.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

It looks like Creamsickle to me, too. Besides being big, are the blooms heavy? The petals are thicker than my other flowers, it really surprised me how heavy the flowers are. It smells like hyacinths, a completely different smell from most brugs.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gosh, 400??? How many varieties? You are already in big trouble. LOL!!!

I always thought Cream sickle was hybridized by Native Habitat. http://www.nativehabitat.com/index2.html

But I probably am wrong since I just went and looked for it there and it is not listed. I always spelled it Cream sickle because that is how I saw it spelled there, and I figuered they would know how to spell the name of their own brug. But now.....................I do not see it there. LOL

glenmora, LA(Zone 8a)

yep, sorry that is where i bought them from, winter before last.i have about 40 to 50 different types.im going to be selling them at our nursey festival in march, thats why i have so many rooted.along with some gingers and aroids and maybe a few bananas.and that is the way they had it spelled on the tags the cuttings were sent with.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You could be right!! Good luck on your sale. I hope you have some in full bloom to display so you get sold out.

glenmora, LA(Zone 8a)

thanks kell.

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

400 BRUGS!!!
(You must be Lil Jungle lady by now!)

glenmora, LA(Zone 8a)

lol

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Beautiful double white Brug! Aptly named "Creamsickle". If it turns a peachy color, I would have 1/2 a mind to re-name it "Dreamsickle".

* 1/2 a mind is better than NO mind at all! :~)

glenmora, LA(Zone 8a)

lol shirley,but true

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Isn't there a brug named Dreamsickle? I was thinking it was a streaked white and peach. Hummmmm!!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Dunno! I was thinkin' of the delicious frozen treat in the freezer section at the local supermarket! :~) Hmmm, my tummy's rumbling, it must be dinnertime! I'll be back later........

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Yes, Shirley. Someone has a plant or cutting of Dreamsicle on Ebay now.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

My Creamsickle flowers are big too, and they do turn a peach color as they fade.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Oh my goodness, Clare I love your Creamsickle flowers!!!!! It's gorgeous **sigh** Mine died on me :-(

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks Ada! Guess I better save MY "Dreamsickle" for dessert! :~)

Clare, your "Creamsickle" is beautiful! However, I've got zone envy....SIGH! Wish I could leave my Brugs outside year 'round! Only 6 more weeks of winter....checkin' the days off on my calendar! :~)

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, guys. I'll be happy if they don't drown in all the rain we are having.

Here's another picture from last summer.

I am just fascinated by your growing 400 (or even starting them). Do you have a commercial set up? Do you plant them to sell? You must have a large commercial greenhouse. I had to go back up and see where you are from. Now I understand.

Still a huge undertaking. I hope you have a lot of help. Jeanette

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

I would love to know if you sell them too! Gorgeous!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Clare, great pics!! I love this brug. I hear you about drowning. If mine do not dry out soon I am afraid they will be mush!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Me too, Kell. This rain is too much. I hope you're staying dry at least and don't have to travel. I'm grateful that today is a holiday so I can stay inside.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Clare, you and Kell may have to do what I did last year during monsoon season. I put plastic over my pots and tied it shut with twist ties. Mine were drowning. I left the plastic off the pot bottoms so they could drain.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Ada. That is a great suggestion. Kell's suggestion about tipping them over is a good one too. It has been downpouring all day, and I don't think me or my plants can take much more:-)

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I really hope the wind is more gentle this spring, it nearly blew me and all my brugs away last year...

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Me too, Sherry. I was just saying the other day that, if I'm not moving my plants in from the rain, I'm moving them in from the wind. It might be nice to have a large greenhouse someday with opening panels which I can just close to protect my plants from the elements.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Clare, I honestly didn't realize we had such windy spring and early summer weather, until I started growing brugs - that's when I was introduced to Mr. Rebar, that's some great stuff, I like the lightweight, green kind from Lowes...I did notice that I don't have to do anything to the established plants that wintered outside and I really hope that is the case this year!!!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

The wind stripped all of the blooms and most of the leaves off my brugs last year a couple of times. I moved the ones in containers, but the ones in the ground had no wind break. Oh well! I guess you can't stop Mother Nature! LOL!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Do you have bad wind in the summer also Clare? Here is great once winter is over.

glenmora, LA(Zone 8a)

went out to the green house a little while ago....and to my amazement those white flowers are turning peach.i took a picture but dont know if you will be able to tell the difference in color.im not good at taking them, but i gave it a shot.looks like it is cream sickle for sure.thanks guys.

glenmora, LA(Zone 8a)

thank you so much julie

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

your so very welcome Dona, you have lovely brugs :)

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Lovely picuture, Dona!

Hi Kell, last summer it seemed that we got those Santa Ana's every few weeks, which isn't really a lot but enough to notice when you have to keep hauling plants back and forth! I would have to take down my hanging baskets too because my epiphyllum leaves would tear. I can handle 15 to 25 mph gusts, but when they get to 40 and higher, it is hard to enjoy being outside. I sound ridiculous complaining, don't I? I know I've got it good here compared to some other parts of the country. Just ignore me:-) I hope you stay dry today. I think this should be the last day of heavy rains.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I want to add that the photos are just stunning.
I hope you guys calm down with the weather too.
Jackie
