these are the bowling balls i have been making-im hoping to sell some this spring with my plant sale!
The bowling alley gave me 25!!!!!! i also want to do the 2 bowling pins i have
see my bowling balls
Made me look! Those are really pretty. Did you glue those flat marbles to them? Are they ornaments, like gazing globes? Cool.
I use silicone to fasten them to the balls. Yes they are like gazing globes-just a lot heavier and wont break! :)
They're beautiful! How long does it take to make each one?
You got me! I thought this was going to be about something else! LOL Nice looking balls, Martha. BTW, the DH is standing behind me wondering what in the world I'm talking about. ROFL

IT TAKES about 1hr per ball and 6 bags of gems!
LOL Terri I knew people would just have to peek and see my balls-LOL
it takes balls to title a thread like that all right. Really nice work. got me to thinking about doing one of my old low average bowling balls with the left over stained glass scrap. we've got buckets of that around.
Dori they are even better lookin than I had pictured in my head. Fantastic job girl!
LOL, made me look! I've always wanted to try this. We are regular bowlers and have at least 6 bowling balls waitin' around for something!
Great BALLs of fire....LOL
After my Church had their rummage sale, we ended up with about 6 bowling balls...some in cases with shoes...some just balls...they gave them to me as all the other stuff was going to the needy in Mexico...so they didn't need bowling balls....I still have 4 in the shed waiting for me to get "the urge"....so maybe I'll getaroundtoit soon. Jo
Did you color the balls or is that just the color of the gems?
Maybe I can put the DH's bowling ball to good use. He has bowled once in the 10 years that I have known him and that was a date with me10 years ago.
Well, I can tell you one thing, Martha. My DH is really jealous of those big, beautiful balls of yours, except the bluish ones of course. ROFL
Somebody stop me! I've lost it. ROFLMAO!!!
I've got a ball I'm doing stained glass dragonflies on. I need to get it finished before the spring.
Yep - I'm jealous of your balls too! HA HA!
M.
I use colored balls and black ones! the blue one in the middle is pink gems on a blue ball and it changes colors at different angles. The bowling alley gave me all kinds of colors
I just set a few gems in a row on a ball and see how it looks before deciding what goes where! ;)
I had to take it easy after my hospital stay so I bought the game-Zelda the minish cap and played that for days, then my son started his own file and has been going strong on MY game, so i had to find something else to do! ;)
Do you buy the "gems" ( I guess they're marbles) already cut in half or do you have to cleve them? If so, how do you do that?
Terri, behave yourself, lol.
Betty I buy the gems(half marbles) at the dollar store, I have had to smack a few with the hammer to break in half!
***Terri Im glad i could make you LOL-i luv makin peole LOL!!!
That is so cool, I can do that on my couple of bowling balls so thank for sharing!
Look so nice and you have a good mind to made this ~
Is this what you do in Michigan when your garden is buried under the snow? I just crochet! :)
Yes Wanda i have been very bored and had to take it easy-i dont even get out of my pj's anymore unless i HAVE to go out! I want to try and sell some this spring/summer to make some spending money for my trip in SEP!
I do need to get the daylily seeds started this month too! ;)
