I heard on the news the other day that Hinton AB, is tired of the trains whistles (horns) in their town. They say they happen 39 times a day and they are tired of it. They are trying to get a bylaw to silence the trains as they go through town. http://www.canada.com/national/story.html?id=c95d168b-f7f7-4f8f-8e2b-97e0ed110d68
Now, my opinion is that: 1) isn't blowing the whistle a safety thing. and 2) I always have noticed that where ever I am, either living by the trains or by an airport, and directly under the flight path, These noices continue, but my tolerance of them greatly increases. It's like a comfort thing. When I was living on a flight path for a military/public air field, it was only the out of the ordinary sounds that got my attention. 3) Trying to silence trains is like trying to silence polititions. They make noise, that's what they do.

Prairie Sentinals for Patischell
Quoting:
ROFLMAO Oh boy am I going to have to start upping the green stuff feeding program soon!! dust bunnies??? can we make stew from them? I would be so blinded by your vegetation that dust bunnies wouldn't even make it into my viewfinder.
p.s. trust me if they were edible my four legged critters would have made dusting in this old girl soooooooo easy!!
so how much does it cost to adopt a grain elevator and more importantly what are the upkeep costs??
~around $180,000 to buy the elevator from the company and pay for the land. No idea of what the upkeep costs.
The video made mention that the elevator company would rather pay $$$ for demolition then give a deal on the building.
