Isn't that the truth?
Original Crazy Lady my Mom!
Shortly after this thread I got a wild hair and decided to run to CO to see Mom.
Well we made 3 trips up to the mountains. The 3rd time was just me and her in my truck to do some rock hounding. Sheesh! She's pointing at some 300lb chunks saying "come on, if we both get ahold of it we can throw it in the truck" yeah right.
This was after picking around the lot where a cousin is building a log home.
How wonderful that you made the trip. Sounds like you had fun.
I'll be passing through Lincoln today on the way back home. Guess I'll wave and honk as I role through. :)
8ft. Applause. Applause. Good for you! These days we move away from our familiestoo much & need to keep in touch. The cool rocks are a great reward for your effort.
oooh, just realized your along the way. Leave a light on or a window cracked so you'll hear me.
Hitting the road now...
Waving back at cha! Hope your trip was safe and uneventful ~
HOME: Did get to swing by and meet Brugie!! Kind of sad to drive through all of that country with 50-70 degree temps then come in last night with several inches on the ground and snow falling. Sun this morning and another inch tonight I guess.
With any luck I'll make the Iowa RU and get to meet some of you.
Thanks
We would love an Illinois "carpetbagger or two " at the Iowa Round UP! If you want to come the night before, iowaron has found us a good deal on a party hotel....hot tub & kareoke! :)

Reservation has been made!!!
It is so nice to read about people and how they truly care about their families when they get old. I'm a CNA who works in a nursing home. I see elderly everyday that I know have family but never see or hear from them. I know for alot of them the other staff and I are the only family they ever see. I try to keep them in my thoughts and do what extra I can for them. It's uplifting to see there are some families that are families even when the parents are elderly. Where I am concerned both my parents passed away. Considering what my occupation is, I was able to care for each of them for a little while before they passed because of illness. Be good to your parents because they won't be here forever.
ordung... reservations are made in heaven for you. Bless you!!
Thanks for the sentiment 8ftbed, I hope your right. I really don't do it for that reasob though, I keep going back to the same occupation, stopped for 15 years or so, stayed home and raised two kids.
Thirty years later I'm at it again!
You must like your work.
Yes, I do . If it's not nurture, it's nature, because I nuture nature (plants) the way I do people.
Add that I'm ther strong sensitive type, it makes sense I like to deal with people who need other people.
I helped at the lily Society Sale in Des Moines today with llilyfan, anahi, Iowaron & special visitor Moby! We walked around a bit in our spare time & and I found a couple of wire garden decorations for the bed in front of Mom's apartment. llilyfan tried to "steal" the painted welcome sign since it boasted a cute metal frog on it. Got to watch that girl... :)
lillyfan got a little 'froggy' huh? I'll keep an eye out at the roundup.
Nice grab for Mom Wanda. Does a body good, doesn't it? :)
in self defense; I was just trying to feed my DD's frog addiction..........LOL
We know it was perfectly well intentioned, dear ~
"... yeah, what Moby said"
(says blaine with fingers crossed behind his back)
yeah, what Blaine did
lol at 8ftbed and Moby...
See-- I KNEW Sue had evil intentions on my frog.... :) Luckily , it will be in Mom's little flowerbed and no DG poachers have HER address.
Great! Wanda hasn't discovered that gps tracker I attached to her vehicle. WHOOPS! Me and my fat mouth.
Doesn't matter - you won't find it anyway but we knowwwww where the frogs are and I'm considering a nice offer from lilyfan for the info!
LOL! Too funny! Have we lowered ourselves to "frog poaching" now?
You say that like it's a bad thing?
Flowers for Mom....How sweet, Kaleem!
I especially like those petunias -- very pretty.
Moby
Thank you very much.... I have spraxies and fressia but can;t differtiat them when they bloom, but both have different types of bulbs.
Kaleem
Beautiful flowers, Kaleem...
Kaleem--I'll show the flowers to Momma. She will be amazed when she finds out how far they traveled. Thank you.
Oh dear! I didn't know a frog fetish was lowering to ones self! Gotta have a long talk with that DD of Mine, she's already bought the new baby a frog and he/she won't join us til July.
So--what color baby afghan will we be needing, Grandma? Any guesses or do I go "neutral"?
The nursery is done in a soft purple and yellow soeither of those or neutral sounds ideal to me! You do know that you don't have to do that right. Yea.... I thought so! One must watch what they say around such a giving person.
I showed it to Mom. She wants to know if your beer gets too warm! (She admits to 1/2 can of beer with her pizza each week.) 87 years old & no medication? Works for me!
Nice of him to pose so nicely.
Don't drink beer, allergic to hops, drink pepsi by the six pack... there's no room in that cooler for ice *AND* drinks. Not sure what it was really created for. )~Blooms
Hey, me too Blooms! 'Cept mine is diet coke.
I'm Diet Pepsi powered....
