WOW, the bud is so large I could hardly find it, thought it was another leaf. You should have a bloom soon. Keep us posted. LindaSC

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Thanks Linda,I thought it was too, I will keep posting, sure wish Kell was around, can't wait for her to know

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Doris, that bud is so big!! Congrats. Will this be your first bloom ever? You will like Maya. I'm sure she will be better in the summer. Right now I'd take anything and I do have three buds on the MM cutting that is in water. I hope they will continue to grow.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Mercy, what a huge bud on that tiny rooting, WOW!!! I know Kell will enjoy seeing that, Doris...

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

thanks Brugie, and Sherry, you can't imagine how excited I am

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Hey, hey, Doris, you can bet I know how excited you are, ain't brugs fun??

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

They sure are and kell has made me a brug maniac LOL

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Hahahaha, Doris - I was thinking about what I'd be doing, if not for my newbie interest in brugs and DG and all I could think of was boredom and eating, whew!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh no..........Sherry, I'm addicted to DG and brugs and I still find plenty of time for boredom and eating. What's wrong here? LOL!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow! It will be no time at all and you will have an open bloom. It is amazing how such a small plant had a bud so big! I know you are excited about this one.

Brugie.....you are so funny!!!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I can tell you know how excited I am, and I know what you mean, first thing I do in the morning now is check all my plants, put coffee on and turn on Dave's, get my shower, get my coffee then it is back to Dave's, and you know how it goes from there, and six months ago I didn't know there was such a thing as a Brug LOL

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi Kareoke, That is the coolest thing I've seen yet... I am looking forward to a pic of this sweetie blooming... congrats! Shirley .... I agree with you on the eating thing! :)
I love to read these posts , it's like Brugmansiacs Anonymous for me! Jackie

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Brugs and Dave's are definitely habit forming.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Doris -- congrats! You're going to have a bloom very shortly. Can't wait to see the pictures!!!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Well, Brugie, boredom really isn't a real factor with me, but you are right, there always seems to be time to eat, even stuff I don't want!! Tell me, are you as glad as i am that brugs are not edible??? That is one of the best things about them, huh??!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I like my potatoes, peppers, etc., but I'll stay away from eating brugs.

Doris, have you looked it to death today? The first bud I ever had was lucky to make it. I must have stared at that poor thing for hours each day.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

LOL! Brugie.... that was me last year! I can't begin to tell you how many trips I made to the GH after Frosty put on her first bud, which ended up being 5 and they all bloomed together. I would bring her into the house each night to enjoy her aroma, and then back outside during the day. What a thrill she was!

Brugie it is in the computer room right behind me and I am constantly turning to look, I hope I don't put a hex on it, it hasn't changed at all yet, but as soon as it does I will snap pictures

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

You are too sweet to hex it Doris! I'm sure your attention is why it is doing so very well...

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Aaawwww thanks Sherry, it is funny how I worry about it,

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Keep those batteries charged up. You will find a dozen ways to take pictures of that bloom and none will look the same. I can't wait. I know how excited you are. LOL!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I sure miss Kell, I know she will be excited since she sent me the cutting

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Doris, can't wait to see your bloom.

We all miss Kell. This place isn't the same without her.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

AHHHH, I just posted to Linda's thread and came here to say congrats to you Doris!
Looking great. Don't you love how the calyx is so striped too? A most entertaining brug!

Maya is a fast grower. In my tree's second year I got a profusion of blooms each flush. If I were home I would post her picture. This is a special brug becuase she is such a good grower and her foliage is so entertaining. A blue green. On of my favorites. The only negative about it that I could find is that cats will eat it to nothing overnight. But a few BT sprays take care of that.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Hi kell good to see you, hope your feeling better. I just love this brug, the bud hasn't grown much more but i check every five mins LOL i didn't think I would ever get this excited about a flower, I realy am a BRUG maniac :):

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

That is the best kind of maniac to be Doris! LOL

I am much better thanks but still not good enough to go see my mother in ICU. I am afraid I am still contagious. So here I sit in NJ, all alone in her house with nothing to do all day but pray and cough. This has turned out to be such a mess.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

kell I am sorry to hear that, I knew you were under the weather (Brugue) sure hope things get much better for you, and your Mom. Take care.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

((Kell)) wish I could make it better.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Oh, Kell, I am so sorry and hope that you and your mother are improving by the minute. Lacking control is so stressful, as if you didn't know it. Wishing you and your family the best, all the time, and especially now!!!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Kell, sending prayers that you and Mom will both be well real soon. Take care of yourself. We sure have been missing you.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks. My poor mother has been undergoing 5 weeks of pure hell. All mistakes done by her doctors. Each one life threatening. All avoidable, all doctor induced.

In their last attempt on her life, they overloaded her with 9 liters of fluids (20 pounds) over 2 days and put her in pulmonary and cardiac failure. She was within an hour or so of drowning to death when they realized it and started giving her IV diuretics. She is now intubated and on a respirator thanks to this latest error.

I do not know how much more an 86 year old can take.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Oh Kell -- God bless you and your Mother. You will both be in my prayers!!!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow. Sounds like she needs another doctor and another hospital. My prayers are with her.

Adrian, MI(Zone 5b)

My prayers and best wishes are for your mom and for you!!Best wishes!!
Bonnie

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

My prayers go out to both of you Kell, it is hard enough when it can't be helped, but when it is caused by negligence it is unforgivable.
maybe this will help a little to cheer you up.Maya is so exciting, and only 7" high :) and the bud is starting to break open.

You are in for such a thrill. I also have a Maya thanks to kell.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

That's where my Maya came from too. I lost my original and Kell came to the rescue.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh that Kell, you have got to love her!
