Well it's three in the morning here.......DS decided to have the cast and crew from his high school's production of the musical "Footloose" come to our house to have the after party. We had 50 teenagers here running up and down 3 flights of stairs over the past 4 hours. The last ten are leaving now ..........
YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Anyone want to adopt a teen or two????

Pam, all I can say, is better you than me. You're probably still asleep, and well deserved by the sound of things.

I bet the kids had a great time, and will be sleeping the day away.

How did the production go, did they Kevin Bacon's dance down just right?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Pam, sounds like they had a blast. Isn't that what parents are for....lol.
Hope you had a great sleep.

Sorry Pam, been there, done that...don't want to do it again! LOL
Gosh, Footloose is a favourite of mine. I think I have seen the movie about 5 times. If I could just dance like that, I'd never have to worry about my weight. Of course, I'd have to be 30 years younger too....sigh....

Didn't have a great sleep but I don't have to work until Tuesday.

On the whole it went very well. Ü They did bring in an orchestra and the guitar player had a bit of trouble with the opening piece Friday night but other than that the mistakes were minimal. The boy that played Ren McCormack did a wonderful job....including the dance scene where he runs up the side of the stage (I think in the movie that was done in an abandoned building). The biggest surprise was the boy they chose to play Willard Hewitt (he'd never acted before, but has a wonderful voice, and the Director Mr. J. begged him to give up playing hockey to be in his play). He was fantastic and the audience gave him a standing ovation!! DS played the principal.....he has a bass/tenor voice so tends to get adult roles in the musicals. He too played the part well....enough that the students were telling him to reconsider science and go for being a High School Principal (he had *the stare* down pat). ;)

Hope your DS continues on in this field. Sounds like he could have a future in acting. New York...here he comes!

Sorry no pictures today ladies.

Had so many errands on the 'i have to do this before i leave list' that i didn't get to the green house until almost 10:30 and was go go go until 4:30 when i left for my next job.

We started by planting unrooted new guinea impatiens from central america, then i pinched flowers off the geranium cuttings (they have been stuck for 3 weeks now, have excellent roots and are trying to bloom like mad) Got a couple of pounds of buds, too bad they aren't edible. Then watered the little sweethearts cause they were dry.

Then planted rooted cuttings of a sweet little carnation that came in from one of the licensed growers. They don't get any bigger than about 6" tall i am told and have a nice array of colors. Did about 1000 of those in 3 1/2 in pots. Think the blooms will be much more like dianthus than true carns.

then mixed a straight 50/50 pearlite/peat mixture for the carnivores. Yep carnivores, two kinds of pitcher plant, venus flytrap, and some weird moss thing that i will photo when i get back.

my brug cuttings are still living and actually have popped roots - who knew!

they have baby musas growing and real pineapple plants, tons of lilies were planted in the week, mandavillas (a yellow i think i will have to have), cool bonsai came in, alocasia and more stuff than i can imagine
