Boy, that poor woman. That is one baby.

How would you like to have this baby?
WOW! Did you see the little clip on Yahoo news video? The father looks quite tall but none of the family looks really giant. I wonder if a baby like that keeps growing or eventually slows down and is normal size after a while. My Mom had big boys one weighing close to 10 lbs, but WHEW! That baby looks really filled out.
Windy let us hope he slows down or they won't be able to feed him.
They may have to elicit the help of several wet nurses also.
OH MY WORD....wow......wow.......wow.....
Being just a few months out of the labor experience myself, um, that picture literally made me shudder! LOL. Joy was 8 lbs. 6 oz. and I was mammoth. I can't imagine.
Whew.
Oh my goodness that so big baby but one of our friend from Liberty, Texas, she had 25 lb. huge baby had to C.Section that worse biggest baby so she passed away when she was 40 years old that she had so real very bad boil everywhere inside her body and outside the body too.
I saw this on the news this morning. The dr.s said it was because she had uncontroled diabetes(sp?). Most likely meaning she has it but dosnt contol it. Alot of women who have diabetes or gestational diabetes can have babies larger than averagre. I havnt researched the why of it but they do.
Thank goodness it wasnt me, my youngest Isabelle was 8lbs 6oz and that was more than enough for me, whew.
Yes, gestational diabetes - when undetected and/or uncontrolled during pregnancy - leads to big'uns. My boys were both over 9 lbs. and for those of you who don't know me, I'm definitely on the "petite" side - I most likely had gestational diabetes with them, but I was never tested (strange in this day and age...)
When pregnant with the third (DD is now 9) I failed the glucose-tolerance tests and spent four months testing my blood sugar four times a day and eating a LOT of broccoli and tuna (any carbohydrate sent my blood sugar soaring.) The good news was she was born two weeks early - a healthy 7 lb, six ounce baby. And with the weird diet I endured, I gained a whopping 17 pounds total during the pregnancy which was very easy to lose ;o)
OMG! My largest was only 8.12. That baby makes me want to get my tubes tied. LOL
Well thankfully there was a ceasarian section performed. The woman looks rather small laying in that bed. YIKES!
LOL BS you are so funny!
Boy I wonder how she will burp that one? :)
LOL
With a name like Ademilton his size will be an asset... LOL
Many babies double their birth weight in the first six months. Can you imagine trying to carry him through a store then? Or pace the floor with him when he's teething?
Wow! My first baby was 9lbs, 4 oz - C- Section.
My 3rd baby was 10 lbs, 1 oz. and 4th baby was 9lbs, 4 ozs. and 2nd was 7lbs, 13ozs. and the first one was 7 lbs, 5 ozs. so my DH's family are big babies and my family are small babies so all of are born natural thank god not have to C-Section! =)
As soon as I saw that baby, I thought his mother must be diabetic. Back in 1970 when I had my last baby, I was diagnosed as diabetic, so they induced labor two weeks early to avoid this problem. The poor kid was 6 lbs 13 oz. and jaundiced. The blood sugar returned to normal in the hospital the day after he was born. There are other possible complications for both mother and baby if the mother has diabetes, and the babies are definitely 'at risk'.
Ouch!
My father in law weighed 13 lbs when he was born (Russian) but grew normally and was no bigger than 5'8". Makes one wonder...
Terry, Those are some healthy boys, for certain at that birthweight. I was tested for g.d., but didn't have it. Bethany was 8 lbs 9 oz and Kaley was 8 lbs 2 oz. I'm about your size and they were quite large enough for me. Hmmmm, when I got pregnant with Bethany, I was a size 6 and all of 5'1". :) Gee, at least the height hasn't changed. :)
As the mother of an almost ten pounder-I can definately say NO THANKS!!
