There's a wonderful article in the House & Home section of the New York Times entitled "Ah, Winter, When Gardeners Get Busy" (Jan. 20). The article is a great summary of garden preparations, meetings, and customs at this time of year. You can read it online at http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/20/garden/20cutt.html Although you might have to register (it's free), the accompanying photos alone are worth the quick effort.

Mike--thanks for posting Raver's write up on garden trends and plant introductions for this winter--great pics, too. She cited some of my favorite nurseries--Herondswood, Select Seeds...good to hear what's going on with them.
