Kathy, there are many crafting groups but I've not found any with the scope of DG. But some good ones nonethless. Just go to Yahoo's Groups section and skim through the choices. MSN also has a great many groups, which you could probably access with a free hotmail account.

Google has groups now, too: http://groups.google.com

There's always the boards at DIY.com, hgtv.com, etc., too.

This one has reviews for yarn that I felt was really helpful and you can post questions.
