Something different

Maybe this isn't the place to post this idea, but there were 72 posts here and only 22 in garden. My idea and maybe this has been done before i don't know. How about we each pick some plant or more that we haven't tried growing before, from seed or a cutting, or a plant itself, Pick before Feb. 15, and then report on our sccess of failure or experience with that particular plant, reporting maybe 8 months later. How to you think this should be done.

Pick a plant, take pictures and make posts along the way?

Brugs Are My New Garden Plant Choice

Several subscribers at DG have been very generous to me in sending both Brug Cuttings and seeds. This is a plant that I have never attempted to propagate before but I have gotten excellent advice from an experienced Brug Gardener (who's name I will reveal later if I am successful) and with her continue support I am hopeful.

1) Receipt of Cuttings - picture of packaging etc.
2) Rooting in water, description and picture
3) Potting Up - (same)
4) Propagating area (same and see picture below)

2) Sprouting - description of method used and pictures
3) Potting Up - (same)

Sitting out the plants - same steps
Blooms - same steps

Along with any interesting notes along the way.

I'm willing to do this and would love to see people do this with other plants. Many people are already starting seeds and I know I've taken cuttings from other plants to start so I assume other people are doing the same.

Since the Gardening Process starts with propagation and the idea here is to follow the plant through to the garden and it's use there, I believe the Garden Forum would indeed be the place for these Threads, versus Propagation or the specific forum, i.e. Brugs, Tomato, Annuals, etc.

Please copy and paste your posting on the Garden Forum and I will do the same.

I would be willing to do this. LMK if it is a go.

judycooksey, I did as you suggested moved my idea to Garden forum. Didn't check this morning to see if you moved your suggestions also. But maybe there isn't enough interest to go farther. Donna
