The space in which to write e-mails has gotten awfully small again. Is there a cure?
Shrunken Message Area
Mine has always been like yours. Makes my eyes go crazy sometimes. I even got an email yesterday that looked like that, but after I replied and she replied back, it is normal.
800 x 600, GW, with a 17" monitor. However, this is a matter of proportions and had been normal in the past.
Where do I go to see what the size of my screen is? I know I've done it before, but I sure can't figure it out right now. LOL!
Go to 'Start' > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings
or right-click your Desktop and click on 'Properties' to get there.
Kim, mine is set the same as yours, (thanks Ulrich), but my screen shot looks just like Ulrich's.
Does the size of the box increase or decrease in conjunction with changing your display font size? If you have a scroll mouse, hold your control key down and scroll it.
For me it doesn't change the width of the box at all. It isn't a big problem, just would be nice to have it wider.
I don't think it's a font size issue. Mine does the same thing, apparently randomly on certain replies I send (there's no pattern I've been able to detect.) On occasion, the text box appears so narrow I can only type one ro two characters - very strange. most of the time, it's about half the normal text box size.
Ulrich, a manual workaround is to select "preview" then scroll down to finish typing your reply - after hitting preview the editable text box will be the proper (full) size.
Thanks, Terry, that's good to know.
Gosh Terry, thanks. Knowing this is going to save my eyes.
mine changes all the time, one day it's normal next time it is small but not so small I can't see just a lot more narrow.
I have the same little box and it is annoying at times. But if I write a few lines, then hit 'Preview' and then the box is normal size and I can keep on writing...
