This Christmas we got to spend it at my parents house. While opening presents, I noticed my sister had a new winter jacket, so I complimented her. She said, thanks! its my Christmas present to myself. A few minutes later, she pulls out a new dig. camera, again, a Christmas present to herself. So later on she shows us her newly installed remote control car starter....yap! another Christmas present to herself. And thats not it. Just three weeks ago, she took a weekend trip to Las Vegas as a Christmas present to herself!. This Christmas was the first time we did an adult Xmas gift exchange in our family...at the request of this sister. She claimed it was getting too much buying presents for all the adults so we opted to do the exchange this year because she is recently divorced, single mom & moved into a new place where her rent is double what she paid before. I just couldn't help being a little miffed w/ her though, after all, she was the one whinning about the money issue and here she was buying these expensive Xmas presents for herself!...good grief!
Anyhow, I'm more practical so the only thing I bought myself were some jeans (on sale of course) that I desperatly needed. I was down to two pairs. What did you get yourself this year?
Did you buy a Christmas present for yourself? what was it?
A bread machine. Haven't used it yet, though.
I bought myself a beautiful rasberry fleece jacket from LL Bean. I may never have to wear it here, but it makes me happy to just rub my face on it and look at the color!

I bought myself a leather jacket at Kohl's. It was on sale at 50% off, plus I had a 30% coupon. Quite a deal...
I bought myself a leather car coat at Kohl's also LOL but it was it was on sale but had no coupon :-(
but I like it anyway
I got myself (now, don't laugh) a 10'X10' dog run to set up in half of the garage, so I can put the 'kids' out, when the weathers bad, or it's wet, and they won't get filthy. So far, it's working out great. And, if we do get the 12" of snow they're predicting by tomorrow, it will really come in handy.
Deb
Hi Deb, I wouldn't dream of laughing. I'm always picking/buying things I need instead of things I want and as long as its useful for you & your 'kids', thats all that counts.
One of my brothers requested an orchid plant from his secret exchange giver. When we opened presents, his of course was obvious that it was a plant. My DH & other brothers couldn't believe thats what he put down on his wish list. They don't understand because they are not plant people but I would've loved to have received it too. There are alot of things I would love to receive but know they are things my DH would never think of buying for me, he's pretty clueless when it comes to buying gifts. I usually end up telling him what to buy me.
I bought myself some Celine Dion Parfum. It's wonderful!
Well, I got my son a ticket home, I felt like it was my present to myself.
But...I did just myself something. a new laptop, egads, are they spendy here.....I spent 1700 usd, and my son said oh mom, I could have bought you one for 800 USD....arrggghhhh
oh well, need it for my new company....
patishell, my sister sent me a fleece blanket and i too rub it in my face...lol
I bought myseld a pair of Lariat boots that have elastic on the sides so when my ankle swells I can still get the boots on!! Who'd a thought;)
Tina
Of course! no one knows better than ourselves, what we really want.
I splurged on a designer purse. I couldn't help myself. I had one by the same designer years ago, before the hubby and kids and figured 14 years was long enough to wait for another one. LOL I worked four days a week instead of 2 so we could pay cash for Christmas and so I could afford to go back to doing hair now. I still feel a little guilty about spending the money but I really LOVE my purse. :) I let hubby get one of those big monster TVs too. I like my purse better than the tv. hahahaha
My DH and I bought ourselves a canoe, LOL, never actually using a canoe before. We just had great pictures in our head of us and the dog paddling around.
Well, we picked it up Christmas Eve and actually tried it Christmas day (no dog, figured we should figure out what we were doing first). Had a great time and didn't get all wet.
Of course, it rained every other day we were off so haven't been out again, but still have visions of us and the dog paddling around.
I know I must have bought myself something, I always do... but nothing comes to mind.
