a speedy recovery.......
he's having elbow surgery this morning [cubital tunnel] to relieve the pressure on the ulna nerve.
and then in a couple weeks, he'll be back to have carpal tunnel surgery in the same hand....
i'm sure we'll be 'seeing' him soon, hunting/pecking with his 'good' hand.

I certainly will be sending wishes for speedy recovery! Can't have 'Shoe not posting here.

haha - we talked about that! i told him they'd probably be giving him a pair of those sox with the non-skid bottoms.....we'll see!

Yes, booties and one of those lovely bonnets! When Dennis had retinal surgery, he had a lovely floral bonnet... quite fetching! Shoe, by the time you read this, you'll be 'sittin' up and takin' nourishment, as an old friend of mine used to say. Hope to see you 'huntin' & peckin' the keyboard real soon!

Well, Shoe, you got yourself in a "fix!" Seems like they have a good plan of action to correct it. I'm a thinking about you, wishing I was there to hold your good hand and say something to cheer you up.

this is me, the one-armed bandit.

Or better yet the "one armed half-wit"?

thanks for your cares, prayers, and concerns! I'm alive and kicking (well. not kicking). no fun typing one hand/pick'n/peck....making myself dizzy looking all over the keyboard for the right letters!

Operation was no fun;wide awake the whole time. surgeon and asistants seemed to have fun though!

Guess I'll be back there again soon to fix the other part of that arm and hand that is falling apart (either from abuse, misuse, or old age? nawww, cant be old age, I prefer "adage"!

will be back another time...feeling woozy and am spending too much time correcting errors than typing! iwill go read some posts for while (mouse hand still works as normal. yay!

Hope ya'll are doing well and are healthy and happy!

Speaking of old age (and adage):

What did I tell you folks, surgeon and asistants had fun with Shoe! I wonder if they charged eXtra for their services? Well I am pleased it is part way over for you Shoe. Soon you will be able to do twice the amount of work with two good paws!

Hi there Shoe, hope you heal up real fast and can be back to 100% soon. I bet the doc and nurses did have fun with you at their mercy. Hunt and peck typing is confusing, my brain gets way ahead of finding the letters.Take this time to have some family activities, go fishin or for a hike while your arm heals.

Was it just a local anesthesia? Ish! If they'd known what a fun storyteller you are, they'd have snuck you into a twilight state. Glad to see you posting!

Shoe, I hope your recovery is fast and uneventful. Just a little one-armed tip for you. I don't know if you are familiar with the shelf liner they sell now that is sort of cushy and grippy. It is great to put your bowl or plate on so it won't move on the table. Rest up and take it easy.

Talked to shoe a little bit tonight, he is in some pain and taking the meds for that of course. Makes him a bit woozy. They did make him wear them thar socks and tired to make him wear that scarf hat contraption but he had to much hair. :)
He still has his sense of humor. And I think on the road to a full recovery.

Don't let him fool you he is typing these messages with his toes.... lol

Hey, I just did a Mapquest on you - you are less than 2 hours from me! If you need help with your Spring chores please let me know! I love to hurt myself! LOL - depending on the day I might be able to drag my DH with m and put him to work too! lol! I mean it!! I just love meeting other DG members and it sure makes the 'work part' seem like nothing. Feeling much better...reckon it must be becus of all the good thoughts and well-wishes from you people. Makes a body feel good! (Makes my mind feelgood, too. And i noticed it makes my eyes light up, tooo! And, well, lookee thar...the ends of my mouth keep curling upwards, exposing my teeths!)

I hoping to type w/two hands by this weekend. (JIM, this surgery was on my elbow nerve, ulna, also know as 'funny bone'...wonder if that is what you had?) Next operation is on my wrist meaning MORE downtime and even less ussse of fingers. I'm already so bored my southend is growing moss; I don't "just sit'' too good. When other operatin happens I won't even ve able to twiddle my thumbs, eh?

Hhowever, I am thanksful and ver y grateful this is getting taken care of. Onee day I'll be standing on one foot and playing guitar and telling lies, umm, I mean storries!

ya'll shoulda seen that hospital place. Folks sure do laff easily there.
