Yes? No?

Instead of trading seeds/plants for seeds/plants- would anyone be interested in trading seeds/plants for paintings? I don't have alot of neat flowers to offer people and I feel bad when someone sends me a neat plant and all I can send are "normal" plants in trade. I could do flowers and butterflies and birds- or whatever someone wants. They'd be watercolour mostly so shipping is cheap and I can turn them out faster. Nothing really elabroate, just simple scenes. No people or pet portriates (those take me way too long- just ask Ginger_H LOL!).
Just an idea that I need some advice on. I think winter is getting to me. Ugh.
For "special plants" I could do oil paintings or a set of watercolours? I dunno, now I'm rambling, LOL.
I'll post a picture of an oil I did.

Here- the colors are all off because of the camera but you get the idea.

Looks great to me, i envy your talent!!!
I have alot coming up in the next few weeks so i won't be able to trade through the mail, but would you be interested in an in person trade at the florala swap?
I could bring you vines, brugs and some other things.
Let me know if that would be okay,
jen
P.S....don't feel bad about your trading material. You don't have to have the super expensive or new releases to make a trade worthy. Sometimes you may have just what someone is looking for ; ).
Take for instance Blue Sky Vine.....i so desperately wanted it and someone gave it to me at the swap because they had too much of it.....it was common to them but a gift to me. I know have about 30 cuttings that are rooted, lol. So, its common to me now, but will be a gift to someone else.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Sure thing Jen, just tell me what you want in the painting.
We can never turn down brugs (even those without names), LOL! But- mum just said VINES! LOL
Cuttings without roots would be fine too- would save you and my ride space.
I do have some purple datura seeds someone gave me. I'm sure someone would like some of those. Double purple, hehe.
Do you have any snail vines? Awe darn, just tell me what you can part with, LOL. I don't have the supplies to frame my paintings though. It would be loose until you could get a frame. I should have said that earlier. LMK. :-)

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Loose is fine, i'm kinda funny about frames and matts : )
Do you do dolphins? Those are my favs...but ya know what? Surprise me!!! Just paint whatever tickles you!! One of my favorite artists is Salvador Dali, lol....and i love Dana Tiger!!
I won't give you unnamed brugs because that causes so much confusion later down the line but i will bring you cuttings of named ones.
As far as vines, i do have snail and corkscrew but i need to figure out how to root them : ) Do you have the Blue Sky vine? Also have cuttings of a yellow woodrose that look like that just might be rooting (doing cartwheels, lol).
jen

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I would just die for a snail vine/cork screw vine (so would mum)- if they root please lemme have one! LOL
I killed my blue sky vine- so that'd be great. Mum said any pretty vine/s you can part with.
I'm looking up those artists now ta see their technique.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Crimson, you certainly have a talent, and I woudl be thrilled if I got a painting in exchange for a plant. If I were still living in the states, I would jump at the chance to trade with you.
cheers and have fun painting and trading...

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I can ship a painting outta state. A watercolor wouldnt cost that much to send I don't think. Well I'd have to check. I've sold some of my work and shipped it to Canada for under 5 bucks- not sure about Turkey though. Seems like I'm always saying "under five bucks" LOL.
Jen, I looked up that guy- he has some unsual art... want a dolphin inspired by him?

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

LOL, saying his art is unusual is an understatment. There was a time in my life when i understood it, lol.
I'm not sure how a dolphin inspired by him would turn out, lol, but i'm game : )
Jen
I also like native american, horses, roosters, flowers, lake reflections, snowy scenes......

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh muhaha.....
Jen, now you're making me wanna paint an oil, LOL! That stinkin` chicken (or one like it- I forget) up there sold at the gallery in Austin for 450.00- my first sell, man we were excited. It's a small painting! People like chickens, lol. I don't have the supplies to do oils right now- but when I do I'll turn a few out for trade on DG.
I'm thinking right now though... I;ll do some and let you have first pick at the swap. I'll do different things. Man now I'm excited! LOL
I gotta get off here- Ginger is supposed ta call me. Ciao for now guys!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

crimsontsavo, I can just see the glimmer in your eye as you get ready to paint a whole bunch of watercolors to trade for plants! go get em tiger....

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

hehe- it's exciting! That and it has inspired me to paint to sell. I kind of lagged off of it for a while. (um, three years maybe? LOL!)
If I can sell enough art... I can set up a bank account just for DG swapping and co-ops or whatever. That's if my brain can handle it- LOL!
yes, I'll have a DG fund! LOL
Better not count my chickens before they hatch though! LOL I'mma check some posts and my ebay then I'm off ta sketch!

Ocean Springs, MS(Zone 8b)

Hey, Crims,
I am with MSJen, love the dolphins. My sister is an artist and has several prints, but I keep "begging" her the paint a dolphin, but it hasn't happened yet.
Have you ever been to Wyland's website??? He is my favorite. I have a couple of his prints, figurines, and clothing.
Christian Lassen is also very good. Just a couple for inspiration. I would love to trade plants for a pic with you in Florida.

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

HI, what kind of plants are you looking for? Will be having Lots of time up here in WI to grow plants, mold or long grey hair the way this winter is moving along--Slow...

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Okay I'm putting names down in my tade tracker so I can keep up with what I need to paint. lol. I'll post here or on the "official chatty florida swap thread".

Were looking for Plumeria (all colors but love those dark pinks)
Vines (any kind of vine seeds even the "plain jane").
Daylilies (any kind but common yellow/orange doesnt have to be named)
Salvias (mum likes the purple blooms)

If at all possible small plants/cuttings and seeds- gotta save space in Gingers car, lol. Cuttings wont have to be rooted so you can just rip them off the plant come swap time. LOL!
If we can't make it to the swap it's easy to send watercolours in the mail.
I gotta get names down so I don't forget!
