Watching the Rose Parade? Happy New Year!

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

Happy New Year everybody! It's been a great year for us and hope for you too! And we're looking forward to a great 2005 and wish everyone on DG a great one, too!

Hope everybody is watching the Rose Parade in Pasadena! What a great spectacle of flowers and imagination. Any DGers volunteering on the Parade? If so, thanks a million! t.

I did watch it while doing some minor cleanup on DG stuff ;o)

Terry--So glad to know somebody watched it!

The Rose Parade floats are so amazing and to see tens of thousands of roses and orchids en masse is beyond belief--it is really something to see in person. And so many of the floats are created or worked on by volunteers. Seems like a fantasy come true.

BTW Sponsoring a Rose Parade float would be a great project/activity for DG! If you want to do it, let me know--I'll work on it/organize it! You can pay for it!

Not that I want to pile more work onto you all.

I guess I'm the only one excited about it because we just moved from Pasadena last year and I'm a little homesick....

Happy New Year. t.

I saw quite a bit of it. Everytime DH nodded off I switched the channel from the auto shows to the parade. :)

I watched the parade on HGTV...and their announcers let you see the floats instead of THEMSELVES!! I hate it when sports announcers...and parade announcers...get more on-camera time then the actual happening!! JMHO....Jo

I watched it too - on HGTV - love it. Mom and I use to watch religiously every year....was a girl thing. She's been gone now for 14 years...but I still watch - and like to think she's watching with me.

Did anyone see the "pre show" prior to the parade on HGTV...it's amazing how many flowers/seeds/etc. they use ...and the work - wow. I'd like to do it just once....would be fun.

Maybe we should have our own mini-parades at round ups - or we could do it online!!!! That might be a fun winter project.....

Well, I still think DG should sponsor a float in the parade and we will do the work! It would be fun to have a DG winter RU in California for everybody...lol

Sounds like a job for SoCal................
