Taking a little DG break...

Springboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm going to sign off for a week or more. I have a TON of sewing and other crafty things to finish up here and I really need to maximize my evenings. I'll be back somewhere in the first week of January, though. If anything really major happens this week on DG, please post it here. This will be my "refresher" post after New Year's :) Have a wonderful New Year everyone. Be safe! Squeeze those loved ones extra tight! :) -- Much love, Hugs :)

Before you go... just a poem

Twas the Night after Christmas and all through the house no one was sturring except this dam mouse.
He went banging and booming through the night with ease
he was a real ()*#C@,....,,hm excuse me please.
I heard crunching and munching and flopping and screatching,
he listened not to my mid night preaching.
I heard him in the corner and then heard him here, but then when I looked he was not even there.

He tumbled through the kitchen and I mean he tumbled,
I heard him and looked, but it was I that had stumbled.
This mouse has had his better day, there has got to be a much better way... I say.

Shall I use poison or electric or just scare him to death... but
what if... he ends up dead in my bed?

My bed lays on the floor and I don't think that I oughta
be pesterin things that could end up obligata....

So I thought and I though and I'm still thinking still...
what meathod to use, should I even kill?

Can there be a way to live with a mouse? Right here in my very own house?

I shall ask my sister, that's what I'll do... she's older and wiser.. she'll know what to do.

She said "you not only have one mouse, surely you must know that"..
Why don't you invest in a lovely young cat.

So here I sit with my eyes open wider... this isn't a matter of getting rid of a spider. Now I must think of an animal guest, not for a short time but as a pet, 'cause surely I can't ask it to do something for me, only to ask it to then again leave.

Perhaps I shell find out if a cat likes cold weather... because to get one and keep one and love it forever, I will have to move from the old ogers house... He doesn't like cats... he'll put up with the mouse.

To a dessert where life is very extreme, but I think me and this cat might make a great team..

I guess I'll be needing to tend to a few things myself... come see us when you come back

Well, I didn't make much progress on my projects last week due to a pretty heavy social schedule at our house. Guests are fun and fellowship was wonderful, but this week I'm buckling down. I'll chat a bit tomorrow night, maybe. My goals for this week are:

1) Hem two table toppers for in my living room

2) Sew 2 pair of pantaloons for girls

3) Cut out fabric for Hannah's purple jumper

4) Begin sewing Hannah's jumper

Hopefully I can post next weekend with some pictures of completed projects!!! :)

sounds likeyou have some fun projects going. I used to sew my childrens pans, started out with sewing them for my son, then got into leggings for my daughter - with lycra type fabric, I got so good at them that I had an assemply line, I would cut out 3-4 pair, (very simplet pattern I had, jjust two pieces of fabric) then sew and serge, then sew in the elastic and I could get one pair done in 10 minutes from strat to finish....ohhh those were the days....
I used to have the most fun when I was sewing in a group...one of the ladies had children the same age as mine, so we would cut out a dozen pairs, then both of us work on the, one sew one serge, etc. it was lots of fun, and it was a couple of hours a week where I didn't have the children with me.
