That's the spirit, MSJen! I like that one... if okay with you, I'll use it, too.

I am going to stop HangGliding and Parasailing, walking on fire and eating glass. Those should be a cinch!

Okay ....here goes:

1) Start exercising to get in shape and lose weight
2) Spend less money, pay off debt
3) Get organized at home - i.e. get rid of JUNK!

And - probably need ten million more.....but don't want to over burden myself! LOL

I HAVE to start spending less time in Dave's Garden and more time Exercising! Sounds like a drag, but it has to be done!!!

Tim McGraw put out a song earlier this year that made me bawl like a baby when i heard it. It was around the time that i had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. I dont think i'm going to ride a bull named FuManchu, but....

I went sky diving
I went Rocky Mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named FuManchu
and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
and I gave forgiveness I'd been denying
and he said someday I hope you get the chance
to live like you were dying.

Here are the words to the whole song: http://www.anysonglyrics.com/lyrics/t/timmcgraw/live-like-you-were-dying-lyrics.htm

Judy, Since I quit smoking this year my resolution this coming year is lose weight.
Mbock I am in grad school at the University of Memphis. They have a great health club for exercising and I am looking for a partner to exercise with for moral support. Don't suppose you are a student or an alumni?
Ms Jen-I love that song.

AlohaHoya - you got me ROTFLOL!!!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Woohoo, I'm off to a great start, lol

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Mine is to learn to play the flute and to save at least a $100 dollars a month. I am already working on the flute and payday is Friday so I will start that part then.
I got a Native American Flute for Christmas and I am bound and determined to learn to play it. I figure, since I am still smoking that by playing the flute I can reverse the wrinkles that sucking on the cigarette causes. LOL. I could quit smoking but I'm not sure that I could keep that resolution.

Happy New Year to all my dear friends at DG's. God bless and keep us safe throughout the year. I pray that those that lost love ones in the tsunami find some kind of comfort in knowing that they have been the ones chosen to rebuild their world and lives. I pray that we never experience such a disaster as that one again in ours, our childrens, and future generations life time.
Love you All
Jan

LOL, Jan,... I figure, since I am still smoking that by playing the flute I can reverse the wrinkles that sucking on the cigarette causes... Too funny! Let us know if it works, will ya? Good luck with the flute, too.

Jan,
My husband has a flute that was made by Nev Autry....it has the most incredible sounds. He's still learning to play it, but has gained alot of knowledge by watching the videos produced my Nev.
Good luck with it, i love the haunting sounds that they make!!

My resolution is going to be the same as last year... simplify my life and get it organized. I'll be 58 at the end of January, and it's time I considered my own demise. It's bad enough that someone will be sorting through my clothes, holding up my voluminous underwear and stifling a chuckle, but how about all those old documents and eyeglasses and vinyl records and really bad photos and penny jars and who knows what else. I slimmed down my collectable junk considerably last year, and I hope to do the same again. It will save my widower's next wife a lot of trouble! Of course, my Aunt has reached the ripe old age of 104, so maybe there's no hurry!

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

NO resolutions for me! I am a person with no will power, very little character, a completely warped sense of humor and there is no liklihood that that is going to change just because we've started a new year. Besides, I've grown very fond of my fat, and if my DH's next wife wants to laugh at my underwear, I'm not at all sure that I will care. I'm also pretty sure that all the junk I've been accumulating will suddenly become extremely valuable as this century progresses, because all the things I threw out as too old to keep in the last century have shown up on Ebay at inflated prices. So, my heartfelt encouragement to those of you who have resolved to do better, spend less, exercise more, I'm just gonna lay back, plant flowers, pull weeds, let the dust bunnies have a field day, and enjoy myself!! Cheers!!!

Paris, TX(Zone 8a)

I've got to lose weight!! I had lost 40 pounds a few years ago, and was doing a good job keeping it off...Then I got married. Now it's back. :(

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

LOL, Jan! :-D Yeah, let us know how that works out for you, eh? ;-)

Good for you, Meezers. I don't do New Year's resolutions either. I figure when I'm ready to make a change, I'll make it. Why wait for the next Jan. 1 to roll around....so far it's worked out pretty well. I think my August 27 resolution last year was to floss my teeth every darn night, even if I think I'm too tired. :-)

Jan, thanks for sharing your thoughts & prayers about the tsunami and human tragedy...very à propos.

Blessings to everyone,
Shannon
