Gloria -- those are grogeous! At first I thought they were made from brooches, but considering I can't figure out the scale, I'm at a loss. Please share your secrets! Just beautiful!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thank you Gretchen.

They are any good jewelry, pins, earrings, brooches, necklaces, buckles (rhinestones), to fill in places. It is a thin board, with holes for 20 miniture lights through back(shaped of tree). Red velvet front, then have to cut all the backs off pins etc. Glue on around each light in shape of a Christmas tree.

All made from DHs' (2)grandmothers,my (2), plus both moms'. It is a real conversation piece at Christmas, everyone saying,"I remember when she wore that with a certain dress". Brings back good memories.

Awwww, Gloria! Thank you so much for sharing! You're so talented! That's a priceless set. I would hate to put them away each year... I sure love them.. Thanks again :)

Picturelady,
I find it to be a LOT and I mean a LOT less trouble if you use an artificial tree as I do,to start putting lights on as you assemble the branches. Put on the lower branches then work the lights into them all the way from the tips to the trunk. Then put on the second row of branches, lights, and on and on from there until you're done.
I always noticed that if you put the tree up then try and push the lights in you tend to ruin all the work that you put into fluffing the tree up to start with and then you have to go back once you've put lights on and reshape the entire thing only causing yourself more work in the long run.

When I bought that tree I don't know why I decided to do the lights like that but it gives the tree a really cool look. The flocking is so heavy on this tree that once the blue lights have been pushed into the middle you do not see any bulbs at all, only a cool blue glow shining through the snow.

Everyones trees look nice and as soon as I can locate some pics of mine and get them scanned then i'll try and figure out how to get them here.

Now you've heard of your White and Scotch Pine trees, your Blue Spruce trees and you Fir trees, but this...is the Classic Isabella Brug Tree. Very hard to find!!

(Sometimes I think I must have way to much time on my hands!!!)

Here is my moma's Christmas Tree. My sister and I (Candy) put it up one night until 12:30 a.m. or 1:00 a.m....and that will be a night I will never ever forget. God bless her heart. We both spent the night with my moma, like old time's....a little slumber party...

I love all of your Christmas Tree's, they are beautiful. Thank you for sharing. And DonnaB thanks for starting such a lovely thread.

There's birds on the tree I'd like to share too, I know how much you love birds. Me too!

Merry Christmas to you All

Love
Julie

So pretty, Julie! And I love her yellow walls with white trim. My house that I built and lived in for a few years before David and I got married had warm yellow walls with the white trim, and I really loved it. It ended up being a wonderful "neutral" for my furniture which was deep reds, blues, greens and a little yellow. A warm, happy color.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Yes, Julie...I love not only your tree but your whole room!! Lovely !!!

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Obviously not a tree, but a counted cross stitch I made for my parents about 10 years ago. It took over 200 hours to complete... Wish I still had the time to do that kind of stuff. Guess I didn't spend as much time on the computer back then LOL!

Thank you Gretchen, you're so sweet. I'll be sure to tell my moma what you said. She is proud of her home. She just gutted it out completely from floor to ceiling and started over. I love that butter yellow. I honestly think the shade changes according to the light in each room. She had the whole house painted this color with white trim, even the bathrooms but it's gorgeous with her new hardwood floors. Which she is very happy with. I can't think of anyone one who deserved this more than my moma. She's been through so much.

Here's the village from the side. I would have to go outside and take it from the outside to get a good shot. Kids are coming over and peering in at all the moving people and carousel. It's so special.

Oh I really love those ornaments. And yes that is a beautiful room

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I got these disco ball ornaments from the Oriental trading co. in Omaha.I put a few on the tree with the rotating motors.......called 'Ornamation'. It plugs into the mini light sockets and then rotates the ornament when the lights are on.

Just like a mini disco dance floor! LOL LOL

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Thank you, Sylvia -- it was literally a labor of love! And, my Mother has left it hanging year round in their guest room since she received it. She said it was just too pretty to use only at Christmas...
