So, what Christmas song is running through your head?

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

All morning I've had "Jingle Bells" running through what's left of my mind. Anyone else finding themselves with a refrain that won't go away?? Is this Early Onset Oldtimers??? Woops, never mind, it's too late for that....

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Meezersfive, this is the TRUTH I promise. I have had the song Jingle Bells in my head for around 8 YEARS.... My parrot can whistle it, my son hears it for a bedtime song, I know all the words and the Batman version...

I sing it all year long - not just at Christmas... I really don't know why either, I've just accepted it after all this time!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hah! Nicole, "♫ Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg...♫"

As for me, it's Blue Christmas, sung by Porky Pig! My favorite ( I use it as a pick-me-up throughout the ear)!

edited for typing errors. (Numb hand sure gets old. Sorry.)

"We are Santa's Elves", from the animated movie "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer", complete with choreography! Yes, I have the script memorized, as well. ;)

Try to imagine a tall, 40-something lady trying to spin around with stiff legs like those elves... and that's me almost year 'round. *giggle*

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Thats easy. I have been singing "grandma got ran over by a raindeer" for about 2 weeks now. My daughter growls at me every time she hears me. LOL

Julie...hold down the ALT key, then hit 1 4 on your number pad, then let up on your ALT key. (Have to use the number pad, not the numbers along the top row of your keyboard.)

Great fun!

My Grown Up Christmas List, as sung by Natalie Cole. Love that song. Of course, I watched Rudolph today, so Holly, Jolly Christmas is on my mind at the moment.

Modi'in, Israel

Horseshoe, thanks for the fun secret. Unfortunately, my number pad hasn't worked for several months. Wahhhhhhhh! Guess I'll HAVE to get a new keyboard now! LOL :-)

-Julie

Modi'in, Israel

♫ yeeehaw! My DH showed me how to fix the number pad. I thought it was just broken.

My favorite Christmas song....impossible to say because I like so many of them. Some of my favorites are What Child is This?, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, The 12 Days of Christmas, Oh Come All Ye Faithful....oh gosh, I'd be here for hours listing them all if I tried to list all of my favorites. Put on Christmas Music and I'm instantly in a very cheery mood :-) Unfortunately we don't have Christmas music here in Israel, so I really miss it this time of year.

Decatur, IN(Zone 5a)

Julie, I realize it might not be played on local stations or cd's sold at stores but is it also not allowed to listen to Christmas music there? Otherwise, I for one would've been happy to send you some if I had known you didn't have any to listed to.

Gemila

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Julie...bet you just didn't have your 'number lock' button pushed, eh?

Maybe by next year we can all 'care-package' some Christmas tunes to ya! Good idea, Gemila!

(Bet you can listen to some via the internet though; just don't know where right now.)

The one I sing out loud to the dismay of my doggies is Pogo's "Deck the Halls With Boston Charlie"
Does any body have ALL the lyrics?
Pati

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Deck us all with Boston Charlie,
Walla Walla, Wash., an' Kalamazoo!
Nora's freezin' on the trolley,
Swaller dollar cauliflower alley-garoo!

Don't we know archaic barrel
Lullaby Lilla Boy, Louisville Lou?
Trolley Molly don't love Harold,
Boola boola Pensacoola hullabaloo!

Bark us all bow-wows of folly,
Polly wolly cracker 'n' too-da-loo!
Donkey Bonny brays a carol,
Antelope Cantaloupe, 'lope with you!

Hunky Dory's pop is lolly gaggin' on the wagon,
Willy, folly go through!
Chollie's collie barks at Barrow,
Harum scarum five alarm bung-a-loo!

Dunk us all in bowls of barley,
Hinky dinky dink an' polly voo!
Chilly Filly's name is Chollie,
Chollie Filly's jolly chilly view halloo!

Bark us all bow-wows of folly,
Double-bubble, toyland trouble! Woof, woof, woof!
Tizzy seas on melon collie!
Dibble-dabble, scribble-scrabble! Goof, goof, goof!

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh, and Pati, thank you EVER so much for replacing "granny got ran over by a reindeer"! harharhar

WOW, that's amazing Pudgymudpies!! I could never learn anything but the first verse, and now I see I had that wrong. LOL Thanks so much. I sure do miss the little fellah.
Pati

Modi'in, Israel

Yep, you're right Horseshoe. I felt really stupid when DH showed me ROTFL

Thanks everyone. That's very sweet. No it's not forbidden to listen to it here :-), I just didn't bring any with me....and there isn't exactly a huge market for it either so it's not sold in the stores. I could order some via Amazon.com, but I never do get around to it. I'll have to try to get on the ball early next year and order it in time to truly enjoy it for the whole month of December :-). For now, you've all got me humming and singing all day long :-)

-Julie

Oh, and I'd never heard this rendition of Deck the Halls.....a real tongue twister for sure! LOL

♫ Hi All
I have had Dean Martin's ♫ "Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas" running through my head for weeks - I don't remember hearing it anywhere either so I'm not sure what triggered it. It has been joined by ♫ "White Christmas" and ♫ "O Little Town of Bethlehem" in the last few days which might just stop me driving myself totally nuts! Mind you earlier in the year it was "Sing a Song of Sixpence" that was circling through the gap between my ears, I think senility is begining to make its mark ♫ LOL ♫ to music!!
Great trick with the ♫ BTW!

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

I just KNEW I wasn't alone!! Now I'll have all the rest of them scampering through the hollow regions of my brain!! Wasn't it good to get it off your chest??

Allen Park, MI(Zone 6a)

For me its "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer"
Its not Christmas till I hear it.

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh Pati,
you give me waaay too much credit. I am one of those people who can hum about anything but only remember about 10 words total, and they are never in a row. LOLOLOL Drives my daughter crazy so she has gotten in the habit of goggling songs and saving the lyrics for me. As for this one, after I copy/pasted it I went right to the pogo site to see if that other one was on there, something about good king sauerkraut, and was surprised to see that what I posted for Boston Charlie was not completely accurate!

So here is the link and if you know the sauerkraut one, let me know.

"Ahhhh, it's a marshmallow world in the winter,
When the snow comes to cover the ground.
It's the time for play, it's a whipped cream day,
I wait for it the whole year round!"

We picked up a CD collection of Christmas songs featuring Bing Crosby, The Andrew Sisters, Louis Armstrong, and many many others... so this has replaced the silly one I posted earlier, much to my family's pleasure. LOL

Such beautiful songs and voices from the past... :)
