Okay, here's the contest. Post pictures of your pet or pets with a Christmas theme. You can enter as many times as you want.
The contest will go until midnight on January 1st. Then everyone puts their vote in for their favourite picture. That way everyone can enter, even me ('cuz you know I've got at least one picture of Harley I'm desperate to enter), since the voting isn't up to me. Put your vote in by Sunday, January 2nd at 4:00 pm. Then I will announce the winner.
The person with the most votes for their picture will win some pink brug seeds kindly donated to the cause by Jeanne (aka Brugcrazy). Sorry but seeds cannot be sent to the US.
Christmas Pet Picture Contest
I bet you could hear me laughing Donna. Maybe you can save that photo for next hallowe'en! I've heard of a vacant stare but......
LOL
I tried to take out the red eye on some photos taken the otherday, and finally just gave up. Too much hassle.
LOL.......I'd be worried about that cat Donna!
Ooh! Ya, that is a little scary Donna. But you set the shot up nicely, so not to worry, you're going to get lots of great pictures before you're through.
Oh Jeanne, he is adorable! I love that second photo. Nicely set up.
I love the expressions on those dogs Jeanne.....a face hard to resist! What treats do you spoil him with?
Oscar is such a good guy, he thinks he's a lap dog. He LOVES attention.
They turned out really well Jeanne. The one by the fireplace is great. Looks like I should have stepped back about a foot though. LOL I do think he'd look great in a hat.

Oh good, we'll have an official mascot! Can't wait to meet Oscar.
You'll love Oscar, Donna. He's a real sweetie.
Well there's sure lots there to "HUG"!
LOL
Actually Sandy, he was sitting there like he'd been sentenced to "death"! He is a very good boy amd knew that it was important enough to me that he should just sit there and grin and bear it until I was finished. Then he got lots of "lovin'!"
Harley does look very Christmasy in his Red coat. I looked at those today at the dollar store. I was surprised to see that they sell a whole "wardrobe" of Christmas attire for pets.
The program that I use with my Digital Camera is called ArcSoft Photo Impression 4. It has features for editing, etc as well as creating pictures from your photos using greeting cards and frames.
We have had nice "mild" mild temps over the past couple days too. How long can it last?
Not long I would imagine. It's supposed to be mild here tomorrow but after that...who knows. The only thing is we're supposed to get lots of rain because the system's coming from the south pacific.
Harley's funny...when you put his coat on he gets all quiet. He's not at all the way he normally is when he knows he's going for a walk.
With a Christmas Cactus, it definately counts, Shannon! Look at the sweet pea just sleepin away on dady's knee. So content. And that Franklin is certainly a pretty boy isn't he. But from that self-assured look, it's plain that nobody has to tell him! LOL
Lovely cats Shannon. Franklin has beautiful colouring. Was he warming up after being out in the snow? It would be nice to have a cat that will come on your lap like Sophie.
Thanks, Donna & Sandy! I love b&w cats; their colouring is always so interesting. On this occasion he was warming up after a brief walk-about...but at other times lately all three of our cats have spent whole afternoons sleeping up next to the register. What a life, eh? Hmm....perhaps we need to be turning the heat up in the house....
LOL, no I think that is normal for cats at this time of year Shannon. They just seem to need that extra heat from those registers, don't they? Probably wouldn't matter if you did turn the heat up. :)
Here are two more photos of our furbaby cats. These are the official (and last!) Christmas cat pictures.
First Callie...
They're such cuties, Donna! Callie looks much more approachable than in her last pic....lol
That's cause her eyes are mostly closed. If those big eyes were wide open, they'd look like two mini sunballs with the flash. sunballs... Well you know what I mean. Thanks though, Shannon. Your furbabies are gorgeous too.

Callie sure is a pretty little cat. She has lovely soft colouring. Aren't you going to take some pictures on the big day Donna? I'm making my cat a new cat nip toy for Christmas. She's so funny when she's got a new one. She just can't leave it alone and it ends up all wet and soggy. I'm going to try to take some pictures.
Thank you, Sandy. Callie is actually a "Torbie", which means her Mom was a tortiseshell and her dad was a tabby. But so few people have heard that expression, I just say she is a Calico as she has similar markings.
I will definitely have my camera ready at present opening time just in case I can catch them playing in the paper. But that too depends on, 1. If they are awake, 2. If they feel like playing, and 3. If they feel like socializing at all. You know cats!
I did get them one of those dangly thingys with the colored tinsel stuff on the ends that rustle. They usually love playing with those. But now that we have the Pup, they are a little more apprehensive about spontaneosu play. We'll have to see.
I got Buddy a huge rawhide bone shaped like a Candy Cane. I'll definitley have to take some shots of that. LOL
That's interesting Donna. I haven't heard the term Torbie before. Yes, I know what you mean about cats. I'm hoping my cat will come out to the living room on Christmas day. Ever since we got Harley she tends to just stay in my room which is kind of my part of the house. She likes it best when I'm in there though. If I'm in the other part of the house for a long period of time she will come and look for me. I never know if it's just because she wants outside or not but usually she leads me back to my room. Aren't they funny? She hates to share me with the dog. She was my cat at my apartment and was only just getting comfortable in the house when we got the puppy. She has a high up perch in my room in the bay window where the dog can't get her. Sometimes she will chase him out of the room. He's scared of her.
Of course the dog loves to be around me too. He loves to come in and jump up on my little couch and push his way under the quilt. I used to have a wool afghan up there but he found a little hole in it and made it bigger. He loves wool and he loves to chew, although he's getting better about that. I have a picture of him in the afghan that I love. I know it's not a Christmas picture but I'll share it anyway.
I got Harley 2 new stuffed squeaky toys and a rawhide bone for Christmas. He's so funny when he gets a new toy. He jumps around playing with it like it's alive. He likes to mouth it all over. However, eventually he starts to chew. I'll have to take a picture before he chews off any body parts. I try to find ones with as few appendages as possible. Last year (his first Christmas) I gave him a fish with small fins. I didn't think there was much to chew. In five minutes it had no fins. You should see his frog. It's so funny looking with just a head and body. We should have a thread where people share pictures of their dogs' toys.
Sandy
LOL, Harley is hilarious, Sandy! He reminds me of Buddy when it comes to toys. Buddy loves stuffed animals and I will go to the Thrift store and get a few, but he goes through them in no time flat. Loves things that squeek, and will walk around with it in his mouth making it squeek until you could strnagle him! Just like kids, aren't they?
Yes, they are so much fun.
I figured I'd better revive this before it slips from everyone's memory. I tried to get some cute pictures of Harley but he doesn't like posing for pictures very much. When he sees me get his Santa hat he runs and hides under the bed. When I put it on him he lies down and I can't get him to sit up nicely. He just looks dejected.
Aw, those are lovely pictures. Of course you can share. It's so much fun to see everyone's beloved pets and the ones who love them.
