I'd never seen these before but our local market had these and I fell in love. They are called Winter Rose

This was the first year I saw a double poinsetia too. Great looking, aren't they? (I resisted buying one, though.)

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Home Depot had them here last year too. Kinda neat, aren't they? (I didn't buy one either)

If any of you get Better Homes & Garden this month they had a great article on the new (to me) pointsettas. Names: Jingle Bells,(speckled), Marbled(Peterstar Marble) edged in ivory (Strawberry 'n cream), or frosted (Monet). Winter Rose has a rounded flower shape with bracts that curl under and Holly Point is complementd by variegated leaves. Check them out.

Gorgeous Rose, langbr! Such a nice alternative to Poinsetias. I'd buy those in a second. If we are lucky we may have them in Canada by NEXT Christmas!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW! They are so fluffy!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

They have this one in dark pink and white also!

It is white not greenish like my pic!

The Winter Rose series was developed by Paul Ecke Ranch in California. The current lineup includes Early red, dark red, Deep Pink, Marble, Pink, and White.

When I first saw it several years ago, I though it was a plant that was getting ravaged by mites. It's slowly gaining more widespread availability.

Oooo....I was delighted to read that the blooms last a LONG time!! My 2 yr old broke off a bloom early last week and I put it in a vase. Looks the same as all the others still on the plants. I'll plant these outdoors like I did my regular red poinsettias. Maybe one day I won't buy them anymore at the holidays as I'll have plenty of my own.

well I guess I better check out that link kell, you have a way of getting me into all kinds of stuff *LOL*
OOOOOPS just looked, afraid it is above my budget, the pink is $59.95 and the tree type is $99.99

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I only paid $19.95 ea. for my 2 red Winter Rose locally. They show them at $24.95 on Kell's link.....
