Buying Wine Online....(where???)

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

I always make a hot wine punch for Christmas, but going to "the big city" to get wine is going to be a problem for me this year. Has anyone ordered wine online and if so please tell me from whom.

Thanks,

Judy

Hi Judy,
This family is one of the nicest families I know. They are vendors with me at the Farmers Market. The make blueberry wines and others...

Hope this helps!

Beautiful family and website, but they only ship within the state of LA.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me.

Hi Judy, give this site a shot.

I have visited this Winery numerous times. They have a good variety that's not too pricey. Their bottles are pretty awesome too. My favorites are Our Dog Blue, and Black Dog. They also have a good Merlot.

Thanks for taking the time to provide the information. What a wonderful website!!!

However, I just discovered it is against TN state law for wine to be shipped in from out-of-state, so I won't be ordering wine online.

Now Judy, there just has to be at least one winery in Tennesee, keep looking.

lol Judy,

not only illegal but a FELONY in Tennessee. We really have some old outdated laws!

What kind of wine do you put in your punch?

For a wine punch, you should be able to find an inexpensive wine nearby or maybe you know someone you could borrow a bottle from over the holidays.

Gosh I live way out in the country and have to make a 3 hr round trip to Memphis TN to get wine. In our county only beer is allowed to be sold, so that is all my neighbors are likely to have, if they have anything. lol lol

Felony?? I guess I won't offer to send you a bottle. LOL

That's kinda spooky, isn't it. I have a friend in NY who use to make her own wine and would send me a 12 bottle case. I wonder what the law would have been on that for I assume the law is to prevent the sale of wine without TN taxes being paid. Interesting thoughts.

BUT thanks for thinking about me.

Too funny!!!

Federal Law (Alcohol. Tobacco & Firearms) allows each person to make 50 gallons of wine a year, tax-free. Wine is pretty easy to make, whether from grapes, peaches or dandelions and everything in between.

Maybe you should start some for next Christnas, Judy?

edited to put in the right name of the Fed agency

Judy, one cannot even buy beer in my county, much less wine... and a drive to another county is almost as bad as you having to drive to Memphis, maybe a round trip for me (driving only) of about 2 hours, plus shopping time.
