Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Thank You Mrs. Claus!

I have to put these into a different little envelope. I just received mine today because the envelope got chewed up by a postage machine in Valhalla, NY. They put the opened and damaged envelope (the seed envelope was torn as well) into one of those "I'm sorry, love the postman" envelopes. I laughed when I saw the envelope. It happens!

Thanks for the seeds! That was awfully nice of you to do that for everyone!

:-)

Karrie - my post office in Valhalla just got one of the NEW postage cancelling machines. Now the ENTIRE envelope goes through the machine, not just the top of it. They actually returned the envelope to me and when I went in to ask them about it, they showed me how the new machine works - it's really pretty cool. Works like the recycling machines for bottles and cans. They just set the edge of the envelope onto the machine and it sucks it through. Supposedly it triples the production...must be why postage is going up again - YIKES! Anyway, now ANY envelope that has a bump in it will jam, so they will be charging a 12 cent special handling charge to any envelope that can't go through the machine. It's kind of neat because they have a little prototype right at the counter and you can check your envy to see if it will flow through ok!

Needless to say, I will forego using envelopes any more and go with the small bubble mailers!

I hope your seeds weren't damaged!

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

Not good news for us seed traders.lol.jody

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh, hey, the way I see it, it saves us from ourselves - now it's the same price whether you use bubble paper in an envelope or a bubble mailer! And this way we KNOW the seeds are safe!

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

True.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

I got mine thanks for the seeds, and the snownman.

The seeds were fine! I see my little pal hasn't received theirs yet..... should happen early week. I would like to know that it's arrived, whenever that happens.

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Just wanted to say today I received a gorgeous card from my secret santa saying mine is on it's way, it was soo cute and I had totally forgotten about the Secret Santa swap, we lost our power on the 22nd due to a rather nasty ice storm, and it was finally restored today!!!!!! So my mind was certainly elsewhere this past week!!!! Had to check in here though and say to my "SECRET SANTA" that the card was a delight! It brightened my day (because at the time my mail got here we still hadn't any power) BUT now we do and I am tickled!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and here's to another great year ahead for all of us at DG!!!!
~Laurrie

Here was our "winter wonderland"

Laurrie! That's a beautiful picture - - but I think I'll let you keep the snow up there! Sorry to hear about being out of power .. . I know the feeling, but at least when we were out it was summer time and we just had to deal with the heat - not freezing cold!

Hope you got all you're MG seeds before the freezes!

Take care, Happy New Year!

Onalee

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

" Happy New Year" To all and love, also some giggles threw in for good measure >

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Thanks Onalee, wanted to say my daughter "stole" your xmas card, she simply adored the silver and blue theme!!!

If I could have sent this ice storm elsewhere I think at the time I would have, but then now after the fact, I am glad it hit just where it did, because we are a rural area with alot of Amish, and if anyone could have dealt with it, we (and they) could have without too much of a hassle LOL, and when our power was restored, I found out about Tsunumi (sp) and felt we had been blessed with only the ice storm here!!!

Happy New Year to all you wonderful DGers!!
~Laurrie

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

My elf mailman still hasn't brought me my goodies :(

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

FLOOD ZONE LOOK OUT, we are hammered now with rain, which is a good thing, here is our back yard now LOL, this was the pig pen, you can see the roof is covered now with flood water, what fun!! At least it wasn't the ice again and we still have power!

Brooksville, FL(Zone 9a)

Laurrie, man, you're getting it all, aren't you!! Didn't you have a bad flood last year, too?

Well, at least it's not in the spring and flooding all your beautiful flowers!

good luck!

Onalee

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Laurrie (OhioBreezy) had to evacuate due to flooding & asked me to post for anyone that is trying to contact her. I was not sure where to post so I put it in the seed trading forum. Hopefully anyone trying to reach her will find it.
