Dave... question

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

What does this mean (from the bottom of page)

Quoting:
All times are recorded in -5

(Zone 8b)

I get

Quoting:
All times are recorded in CST
so perhaps it has something to do with our local time zone? I'm central time here.

Hmmm, intresting. Mine used to say EST. I've switched to Firefox, which I am learning to hate. Maybe that has something to do with it.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

I just checked my IE, and Safari browsers. They (along with Firefox) all say -5.

(Zone 8b)

Looks like that may be the answer then?

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Nope, they ALL say -5!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Well mine says -6. I suspect he's measuring off GMT or Zulu time ;o)

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Hey! I am a -8. Makes sense.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

All times are recorded in GMT +2

;)

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Does it stand for Greenwich Meridian Time? and then each time zone is + or - from that point? Finland being 2 time zones east and NC being 5 zones west of Greenwich.

Blenheim, New Zealand

Mine says, All times are recorded in NZDT

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Or Greenwich Mean Time, aka Zulu time - the Z referring to the prime meridian.

But now that I think about it a little more, I think Dave actually uses Universal Time Conversion (UTC) which is more precise than GMT.

-5 here

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

UTC and GMT are one and the same as far as I know and yes the numbers would indicate the off-set from GMT/UTC.
The display on the bottom will depend on what is set in your Member Preferences (I believe).

Milan

I fixed the bottom for the US members. It should show the correct name now.
