UGH! I know this is just straight up whining but how can you trust anyone on ebay????
I just bought this expensive glass tank on ebay and the measurements did not match the description in the auction. I calmly wrote to tell the seller this and he tells me, "yes it was". No it wasn't! I know how to use a ruler! And the picture was really misleading! It has 6 sides with two depth measurements but this wasn't included in the auction. The picture was taken from an angle so it looks like it's the same all around.
And he also said that I can "return it for the purchase price". What would be the point? For the cost I had to pay to have it shipped to me and to have it shipped back would already have cost more than I paid for the tank.
I can't use this! It's just too small! I'm going to wait and write back tomorrow once I'm calm.
I just wanted to blow steam over this and thought you guys would understand.
Not Happy >:(
Wow! I am sorry you are having such a problem.
I would contact ebay.

((((Hugs))) to you! So sorry for your experience.
ebay can be a wonderful place- but there are rascals on there .
I'd contact ebay right away and send them copies of all the info.
You may also be protected under the Paypal Buyer Protection policy if you used Paypal. While I don't know all the specifics it might be worth checking out.
Please don't hesitate to leave this person negative feedback too. There maybe retalitory feedback left for you but most folks can figure out the feedback issues rather quickly.
Prayers for a happy resolution.

Captmicha--I'm sorry the deal didn't turn out. Did you check feedback before ordering?
I've had my share of good & bad deals from ebay. I think most sellers are honest. Maybe this is just a mistake.
If you paid for it through Paypal notify them you are not happy about the deal,
I have had a couple of bad experiencies there. I no longer even look at their site. More hassel and frustration than it's worth.
I think I will have a talk with some one at ebay.. or paypal? I don't know how to contact anyone through paypal, it's all automated, isn't it?
I know there's good honest people out there but these bad situations kind of make you forget about those for a few minutes. I just don't understand how people have no problem with taking people's money and scr*wing them over like this! Are my standards too high? Maybe I just expect too much.
Micha, eBay has a feature called Safe Harbor which is for such problems. Since eBay own Pay pal, perhaps they can help you there too. Be sure to include the auction number.
