My niece is doing a Powerpoint presentation for my parents' Golden Wedding Anniversary. My mom wants the song "Always" played. Does anyone know who originally sang this song?
Help with song
It's on the tip of my tongue...can't remember but I hear it being sung in my head! DRATS!

Always Lyrics
Artist: Patsy Cline
Album: Always
Written by Irving Berlin
(As recorded by Patsy Cline, February 5, 1963)
I'll be loving you, always
With a love that's true, always
When the things you plan
Need a helping hand
I will understand, always, always
Days may not be fair, always
That's when I'll be there, always
Not for just an hour
Not for just a day
Not for just a year, but, always
Days may not be fair, always
That's when I'll be there, always
Not for just an hour
Not for just a day
And, not for just a year, but, always
FRANK SINATRA RECORDED THE SONG IN 1942.

I was wondering if someone recorded it before Patsy. It's been around a long time. It was one of the Patsy Cline classics, however. I'll bet Sinatra did a great job of it, especially when he was young with a voice like a bell.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Another crises solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frank' sinatra recorded it in 1942, it was the theme songe for
'Pride of the Yankees'
Well, if we could find a recording of that, Kareoke, it would be quite fine, wouldn't it!
You can hear it here,,

That was so nice... I played it all the way through... twice!
I love listening to it... It is one of my favorite piano pieces to play..

glad you found that site, good music :)
Have to post a follow-up. My sister found someone to download Patsy Cline's version on to a cd and we played it at my parent's anniversary open house. We had my parents and their attendants and spouses dance. It was very heart warming. (Lot's of tears!!!!!!!) Thanks again.
I'm so glad it all worked out so well. I used to sing Patsy Cline songs years ago in a band here in Seward. No wonder it sounded so familiar!
