More info on skip to new going past end

I was just in the pets forum and skip to new took me past the last thread. Dave is there a way for me to evaluate #new?

If there are no new posts since you last entered that thread, then the skip to new will take you all the way to the bottom.

Double-clicking on a thread will do that. Are you double-clicking or single clicking?

Also, if you click on a thread that says "No" under the new column, then the skip to new will go to the end.

No, there were new posts. I don't think that I double clicked. I get most upset when I have to work on a Windows machine where one double clicks. I click and wait and wait.

This happens occasionally where there is a YES and skip to new takes me past the end. I will continue to try and see what is happening.

Hmm, well I don't know why else that would happen.

By the way, what did you mean by "evaluating" the #new?

I had it happen to me a couple of minutes ago on a thread in the Lilies forum called "I can't stand it already". Clicked on Skip to New and it took me to the bottom and there were 5 new posts.

I know there were other threads about this problem. It seems to be very intermittent. I think Terry had even posted about it at one point. I figure it's not a big deal and just a bit quirky.

The href is a line like "/forums/t/470058/#new">Skip to New and I thought that #new might hold the value and be a clue as to what is going on.

I am pretty good at various arcane things but not the new. I speak HP-PCL pretty good.
