Thought this was cute too...so I had to snap a picture of it!
Thanksgiving Contest Fun
What a NEAT tree. We don't have anything like that up here.
What a picture?
I missed this in time to take a pic of my turkey in the smoker (first time to try it), darn! It turned out so pretty, too! Will look around and see if I can find something else that reminds me of the theme.
Oh my gosh, that color is gorgeous. I'd be looking down that road a lot.
Ok, I found something that reminds me of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was originally about being thankful for harvest, right? I wrote a poem to go with my pic, please don't laugh - sometimes the words come easily, but they didn't this time.
The Creepy Pantry
The pantry in my basement
seems like a creepy, spidery place.
The cobwebs in the corners might
bring a grimace to one’s face.
But inside this creepy palace
are jars filled with TLC.
That later grace the table,
filling little hearts with glee.
It started with a garden,
sowing seeds in earnest hope.
Then harvest came so bountiful,
It was hard for me to cope!
I canned what I had jars for,
salsa, pickles, apricot jam.
The kitchen became a sauna as I
vigorously continued to can.
But harvest is finally over,
Wintertime is here at last.
I’m thankful for my creepy pantry
that hold’s my season’s passed.

I'm not sure about the grammar at the very end of that...............
The batteries for my camera were used for something else on Thanksgiving day so I used someone else's camera. Guess where my pictures are.....
So here is my homage to fall. I took this picture in New Braunfels, where we spent Turkey Day. To me it is perfect for Thanksgiving - the leaves have changed colors and are on the ground and the days have become wet. Finally, something other than HOT AND DRY! ;->
Vwetsel, your turkey looks like a wild turkey. How'd that happen?
Wonderful Karrie!!!
Nice poem Karrie....thank you for sharing it. :-)
Karrie, I think your creepy pantry looks yum yum and homey, I love it and your poem too!!
It is a wild turkey, They always come into our yard, I was just lucky enough this time to get close enough to get a pic. LOL gobble gobble
Terrific pictures everyone!
Love your poem, Karrie! You are very talented!! I know you will really appreciate all your canned delights, especially during the wintertime.
My word, those are funny, fun photos, whew, I'm ROTF...
There are so many good photos that have been shared and it is going to be very difficult to pick just one. I have enjoyed the funny ones, the beautiful ones and the traditional ones.
Jean......Mo looks way to comfortable...lol
Susie, I don't blame you......I would have left the dishes too for a setting like that. I love the beach on beautiful days in the fall when the sun does not bake you. The weather here has been what I call perfect. . . just wish we had a couple months of it. Today it is back to the high humidity but at least the temps are still in the low 70's. It looks like you and Bleu had fun!
Hmmmmm - I thought Kell was going to post a "voting" thread this morning.
Yep! Coffee in hand, and I'm still in my jams, lol!
Frannie, we walked 6 miles and he was exhausted! He follows me around at home and he kept looking at me like he was saying "Lady, will you land somewhere and stay put a while, I'm just too tired to keep this up!" Finally he just fell over in the floor and was snoring in a few seconds!
I thought so to. I sent my vote by email
has anyone seen kell today?
either she's sleeping in, really busy, or has forgotten...........................
probably the 2nd
or maybe got too many emails lol
So sorry. I was goofing off. I will do it now!
*LOL* kell i bet you were goofing off with a BRUG
