Thanksgiving Contest Fun

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Take a picture or take a few........ of something that looks like Thanksgiving to you! It can be of a turkey (no pictures of spouses please), Thanksgiving tables of food, family or friends, fall leaves or even a pumpkin pie! You decide!

Contest starts now 11/22 and goes until 9AM Monday, 11/29. Post your pictures on this thread.

Vote all day Monday, 11/29, for your favorite picture on a voting thread I will start. Please post date, time, picture poster, and subject matter of your favorite picture. If you prefer, email me the same info to vote. But just vote once and one way

If there is a tie vote, a run off will be held.

Winner gets a rooted Rothkirch. In the unlikely event my Rothkirchs all keel over and die, a rooted L'Amour or other brug we mutually agree upon will be given!

I reserve the right to alter these rules if I have screwed up in any way!

Yaaah, another contest. OK, we can vote only once, can we enter more than one photo?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sure, enter all you want to! The more the merrier!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

What a great idea Kell. We will get to see wonderful photos from many of their celebration of this Thanksgiving holiday. The prize for winning is quite special!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Looking around...can't see a blinking "thanksgiving" scene...:~{ But will try...this is fun!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh Carol, a vacation scene in Hawaii would make a great Thanksgiving picture for me.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

OK, I'll start. It's not a turkey, but . . . .

Too cute!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Judy, we call them 'possums', and Gretchen, you're right - nothing cute about them. This is the 4th one we've caught in a month.

Hiouchi, CA(Zone 8b)

how about a goose for thanksgiving rather then Turkey ?

Very nice, Dick.

Good for you on catching them Linda! We have tons around here too, and I think they're just disgusting! Worse than a rat, and that's what they remind me of, only worse! I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. I need to get busy...

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Shelly -- I love that picture!!! Its is perfect!!!!!!!!

It really reminds me of my sweet Cleo. She and Lanny would always watch every move I made in the kitchen. I never had to worry about anything getting cleaned up in there with Cleo LOL! Poor Lanny though, you have to point to anything that drops before she'll go after it. DH says that's cause she doesn't think she's a dog LOL!!!

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

LOL Moodene, that poor little guy looks like he'd take anything...attention, a sunflower seed, some celery, freedom...., but i don't really think he'd like pumpkin Pie. Can I have his piece?

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

OldFlowerGirl, Her name is Sweet Pea..she gets festy when she doesn't get her way so we have to lock her up in her time out cage....She loves pumpkin pie!...lol..

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Cute pictures. The dogs are adorable. How could you not slip them a piece of turkey now and then. LOL!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Thank you guys! Believe me, they have had their fair share. Squirt is really being vocal about things, he is sitting on the other side of the counter whinning and moofing, letting us know he wants more. He never has been like this. He gets little scraps of steak and chicken, but gets over it. This he just will not let go.
They are all really such buddies, and we just cant imagine our lives without them.

I know 'possums' are awful, but if they had black pigment they would look lots better. Some of their habits are deplorable, but this guy dines, on Science Diet, with my cats, and he has two pals that join him, they are so gentle - but don't get me wrong, ah hmmm, they know they aren't as well liked as the cats, and the dogs, because they defer to the cats/dogs, every time, 'playing possum', so hopefully we won't even know they are here. Our barn opossums have the most luxuriant coats I've ever seen on a wild animal, it's the Science Diet...
