Look What I Woke Up To This Morning!

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Well I'm hoping for a good show with my first run.

Foliage is a good thing, especially of it stands on it's own. I like the shape of SnowBank's leaf as well. Almost looks fake.

Can you save me some leg work?
Is there a real RED brug. Like a classic tulip or apple red? I think the flower shape would look so exotic in one of those colors. Brugie sent me a picture of an orange one she has created that is looks really good as well. (to me anyway :-) )

Scoot, I believe that P&C and Maya are different plants. I think the situation you are talking about was something that may have happened accidently. There are actually two different brugs by the names of Peaches and Cream and Maya. If you have time to check the galleries at ABADS, you can definitely see a difference in the two plants. I have had them both and they didn't look alike and definitely didn't grow the same. However, I didn't see the bloom on P&C because it took way to long for me to wait on it.

It is believed that Maya and Sunset might be the same brug.

Hmmm, the comparison project may have been incorrect ?

I'm open to any new info and stand corrected. Thanks for your wisdom Brugie (-;

(oh yeah... I've been sucking up and saying nice things so I'm on her mind if a piece falls off. Just don't tell her about my ulterior motives. sssshhh.)

Well if there is no lipstick red Brug I think there's a ton of money to be made. Could you imagine the garden world if a real red brug AND bearded iris showed up... at the same time?

I'd be the first on the block to pony up premium prices for one each.

Blaine, take a look at this one. It is about as red as they get without being a sanguinea.

Wow!!! 15" buds?? That's incredible. The super growth stuff is really doing it's job!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Yup! Two more buds about to unfurl their blossoms! Still yellow in color, but I can see a pinkish tinge on one. I'll take another picture as soon as it starts turning pink.

Five days later, my 1st pink bloom is going strong! It's still beautiful!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
