OMGoodness That's a lovely lovely large bloom! I absolutely LOVE the tendrils. You've gotten me so excited about the brug seeds Connie gave me! I can't wait to find out what they'll be! Well...um...I suppose I'll have no choice but to wait, but I think you know what I mean ;-)

Shirley how pretty a bloom. Is your Brugs still outside, in a greenhouse or inside your house? I brought mine in mid-October & Isabella is blooming in the house. The bloom is similar in color to yours. I'm new to brugs but do enjoy all the pics & info I've gathered on this site.

My Brugs are no longer outside. I really pushed the limits & brought them in about 2 weeks ago. I watched the Weather Channel faithfully and whenever the temps started to hover in the low 40's, I would cover my Brugs with sheets. It probably looked like a patchwork quilt to my neighbors! Since the weather can be very fickle this time of year, I didn't want to chance fate and finally brought them into our sunroom. It is so chocked full of Brugs, tropicals, and other plants, that it is hard to find a place to sit down! I can control the temperature, have a portable humidifier in that room, as well as, a ceiling fan to keep my plants happy. Besides wall-to-wall windows, we also have skylights that let in plenty of sunshine. Sometimes it gets downright hot in there! Not to worry, the windows can be opened on milder days to let in fresh air. Hope this answers your questions, Jan.

CC & Shirley's brug is unique unto its self being a seedling. ................. aka One of a kind .
Your cuttings will be exactly like the mother plant they were taken from.
Variations due to climate and other growing conditions can occur , even the different seasons can affect them but only slightly, in size and color.
Congratulations, Shirley. Your Brug is beatiful. I've never seen a flower that big before. I love the graceful shape of the skirt.

Your cuttings won't look like mine. They will look like the mother plant. Mine was grown from seed. Scooterbug explained it very well.
ahhh thanks ladies! now with my glorious dreams kicked to the curb, I'm going down to ask the red wriggler farm how they feel about baby brugs for breakfast!!

Thank you Angela! It is a big Brug. Even the buds are big! It measures about 15".
Please get your cuttings well rooted & growing in a LARGE container, before giving them super megagrowth food. Those red wigglers will definitely help airrate (sp?) the soil. Sorry, I can't spell this late at night.....going to sleep! Night all!
actually I was going to throw 'em in and let the worms compost them!
BTW - I used to think worms in containers would be a good idea for the same reason. Since then I've read in several places it's a no-no as they do a lot of damage to roots in that confined environment.

I noted you have what looks to be a variegated brug baby , which will be a nice specimen even when not in bloom.
As a rule var. brugs usually have large peachy colored blooms.
Oh no, they're all pedigreed from valleygrow.com. (This was the first site that felt good when I went on a brug hunt Fri night)
Dr. Seuss: is yellow
Valley White: doesn't have the tendrils and has a cool kind of quilted pattern on it
Insignis Pink: looks to be a soft salmon color and from the pics has a papery look like a poppy
Valley Sunshine: may be the lightest chiffon yellow color. Lighting in pic may off.
Suaviolens Variegata: they didn't even show a bloom. I got it for the boldly variegated foliage.
Peaches and Cream Variegated - blooms look white in the pic. foliage is variegated but more subtle than the other.
That's a lovely selection of Brugs to start with, 8ftbed! Bet by this time next year, your collection will have doubled or tripled! I look forward to seeing all of these in bloom!!
P&C blooms opens white and changes to Peach. Many brugs do this color change.
b.Variegata seems to mostly be a foliage plant, I don't think I've ever seen it in bloom.
If they do, the blooms are white suaveolens type I believe.
The boldest var.brug is without doubt SnowBank.
