Can we get a list please?

Can we get a list of every forum that has been recently discontinued?

Just so that I don't wander around like a crazy person searching ofr stuff that is no longer there!!!! LOL

I think a post in this forum would be good by the Admins to alert folks a forum has been discontinued. Not for the purpose of opening it for discussion, but to save everyone a lot of unnecessary posts/emails. I've already read 5 posts/threads about discontinued forums since last night.

Another idea might be to post a sticky in the forum a week before the discontinuation advising that the forum is scheduled for archival. Allows folks to start new threads elsewhere, wrap up their discussions if any are ongoing or request a move of a thread.

On another note......is it possible to still search for these old threads and have it displayed as Archived and Inaccessible? That way people aren't losing their mind trying to search for something.

Random thoughts from a random person today.

I couldn't find my old thread (on Tool Shed) even by going to my home page and list of threads started.

Brenda, those are all good ideas, and we probably should have considered some of those ideas beforehand. (Hindsight being 20/20 and all... ;o)

I went through the forums last night and this morning and moved the threads that had been posted to in the past week or two (to be honest, there were very few threads to move, which underscores why these forums were put on haiatus.)

If anyone is missing a thread, please contact us - in this forum or at the helpdesk and we'll be happy to look for it and move it over to an appropriate substitute forum.

(Listing the forums might be like when I showed my DH his fraternity t-shirts I was throwing away. He wouldn't miss them if I quietly did it, but he put up a mighty protest once he laid eyes on those threadbare things that weren't even substantive enough for cleaning rags!)

Terry....LOL about the shirts. I put DH's old Tshirts on a secluded shelf in our closet for a couple of months. If he doesn't ask about them I pitch them or use them for rags. If he does ask I say, "Let me go look." And pull just that one and give it back to him. Eventually I get them all. ;- )

My ideas were intended to be suggestions for the future.
