Where did Home Decorating go?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I just tried to access a bookmarked thread and got an error. Is the Home Decorating forum defunct? There's been recent postings to the threads there, but it just disappeared. Here's the link I was trying to access: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/461060/

GW, Dave and I went through the forums today and made decisions on shelving several that were extremely underused this year. If there's enough interest and need to bring any of them back out of the wings, we can do that.

Oh, shoot...Can you move my Kitchen Renovation thread to Crafts & Deorating, then? There's been a lot of activity and advice posted on that and it's served as a sort of ongoing record. There were several recent threads that had a lot of such info that the starters would probably like to have available. Please?

This reminds me...We can't delete e-mails because that would cause a black hole (there is more than one party involved in each e-mail conversation). When a forum is retired, couldn't the starters of recently posted to, active threads in the forum be asked if they'd like their threads moved to a compatible forum, please? Otherwise, the info we've gleaned and refer back to is also sucked into the black hole.

Kim,

I've moved all the Home Decorating threads that had posts within the past few days OR had been started near the end of October. Everyone who had a thread moved received a message.

I'm not sure how feasible it would be to try to set parameters for notifying thread starters and moving threads. For now, I'm okay with handling it on a case-by-case basis.

Thank you, thrice! :)

What happened to Tools? I went looking for a thread I think I started (was looking for for some info) and it was gone. No notification.

Darius, it was one of them that fell into this category. I've pulled out the most recently-active threads and put them in garden talk or general discussion. If there's another one that needs to be moved, I'll be happy to do it.

Could our threads from closed forums still be listed in our "started threads" list, but noted as "archived"?

Wow! It's like coming home from a week long seminar and finding that DH rearranged all the furniture and threw lots of it out. LOL
