Acronyms

Is there somewhere I can go to find out what all the acronyms are that is being used on DG. I can figure out what a lot of them are but not all. If there isn't a place to fine what they mean just tell me what LOL is. I think it is lots of luck or lots of love. Or if you have a copy of the acronyms send me a copy. I know when I worked for Boeing that's all we used was acronyms. There was one for everything.

LOL is Laughing Out Loud. There is a list here somewhere but I don't remember where. Search for "emoticons"

Whoops, emoticons are the funny faces. I forget what the shorthand is called but acronyms may be the common term.

Most commonly used here:
DH= Dear husband
DW= dear wife
DD, DS= dear daughter, dear son
SIL, BIL, FIL, MIL= all the inlaws
ROFL= rolling on the floor laughing
ROFLMAO= rolling on the floor laughing my *** off
BRB= Be right back

There are lots of pages that list some of the abbreviations used, but this site http://www.acronymfinder.com/af-query.asp?acronym=dd&String=exact&page=2 lets you look them up specifically and gives all the possible definitions. I searched for DD and got way more than I wanted to see. But it looks interesting.

Thanks... I knew someone would have the hyperlinks for Linda!

THANKS A BUNCH, I have printed off the acronyms and the emoticons, so now whenever I see one being used I can look it up. There was one post that someone came back to me and left a emoticon, I thought they were being smart. Now I know.

Don't feel bad Linda, my guess for DH was "Duh Husband" - of course some consider the two terms ("dear" and "duh") to be interchangeable in the case of husbands ....ROFL

I had figured DH as being either darling husband or dear husband or it could have been darn husband. Sometimes I say that.
