Emails

Just curious, are the emails private? Not trying to be funny, but even from admin?

Would be nice to be able to open up with a few friends here, but dont want to get to personal if admin reads/monitors the emails.

You should probably ask them if they care to share their personal email addresses with you :)

The admin most likely have a life and are too occupied to snoop.

Don't ever expect e-mail to be private is a good rule of thumb. If you e-mail from work the administration there is able to read them. They also make system backups where the e-mails are saved.

Many people get in trouble by presuming that e-mail is private.

As far as Dave's is concerned Dave and a select few are able to see anything they wish. I am sure that they are too busy to pry, that is unless there is a problem, then they may need to look.

The private messaging system here at DG is all stored in our database and accessible by the admins here. But, as Ulrich said, we have far better things to do than read email.

So, act accordingly with this knowledge.

BTW - your private email (from your ISP) isn't private, either, as George pointing out. Still today the only truly secure environment is face-to-face in a bug-free location.

Seriously - ANY email system is not totally private. Administrators can - but usually don't read emails, unless a serious problem with a specific member has come to light. That is - thankfully - a VERY rare occurence. I have no earthly idea how many messages pass through here in a day - but I know I wouldn't have the time (even if I had the inclination) to snoop.
