How to place a URL picture on my trading page?

Question #1: I do not have a camera but would still like to have the viewers see what I have.

I tried copying and pasting with the URL's jpg's but DG won't receive it. Right now I am just showing a link. I prefer a picture.

Question #2: As you look at the above "example" link notice on the page it has the Entry at the bottom and all links about modifying/editing etc. including a note about the entry in the center of the page. Would it not be better for the viewer to see the link and not the mechanics. Several times on viewing other peoples trading page I do not scroll down far enough. I really enjoy seeing a picture and not a link I can hardly see. Especially since the preceding page of the plant has a link that says "view" and all I see is nothing or words. Too bad you can't disconnect the word "view" when there is no picture.

Firstly, if you don't have a camera, are you trying to post a link to another website's image or are these images you've stored on your hard drive (and are they yours?) (Sorry, copyright issues are pretty important, even in your personal tradelist.)

Assuming the images are yours or you have the rights to use them, then immediatley after you create an item, you can "add" an entry to it - in that entry you'll see a section titled "If you have an image associated with this entry, add it here:"

You can press the "browse" button beneath that title to find the image's location on your hard drive, and it will upload. The text box associated with that image (above the title) will allow you to explain when/where it was taken, if it's of the seed or plant, mature plant or seedling, etc. And if the image is borrowed from somewhere (with permission), it allows you to give them credit for the image.

Linda -

Just to be clear.....you cannot link to a pic on the internet. You must actually UPLOAD the photo from your hard drive to DG. A link on the internet shows up as just that.....a hyperlink.
