Show who is on a forum

I go to another web site that has the function that shows who is on a forum & I thought it might be neat to know who is on here at the same time. Of course, I realize that there are those who won't want anyone to know when they are on & possibly have the option that they can remain 'invisible'.

Great idea because we could call our "lurking friends" into the postings. Also to be perfectly honest, there are a few people I would like to avoid and this way I would have more information enabling me to better implement that option.

From the ones I have seen, I think you can capture who is logged on to a site but not the specific page (i.e. forum or thread) they have displayed at any given moment, unless a log in were required for each forum. Seems that to do that at DG would be a very long and constantly changing list.
