Anyone watch the CMA Awards?

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

I enjoy many types of music. I live close to Nashville, so of course, I love country!
Who is your favorite?

Pine City, MN(Zone 4a)

I live in MN and LOVE country music. But I missed the CMA awards, dang it. Hope they rerun it on CMT.
I love the older ones, Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, Clint Black, Patty Loveless.
And Patsy Cline and Hank Williams, of course!

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Did not watch last night, mostly because I never really watch any of the award shows. I have also never been a fan of Mainstream Country though I do enjoy bluegrass and more Rockin' Country (Tift Merrit, Ryan Adams, Lucinda Williams). In fact, I just got an e-mail from Amazon.com today saying the new Alison Krauss & Union Station CD is coming out in 2 weeks! Did you see them last night?

She sang the Whiskey Lullabye, that is a very haunting song. So sad.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Who is it that she sings it with? I can't remember. I have only heard it twice, but it is pretty.

Pine City, MN(Zone 4a)

Isn't that with Brad Paisley?

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

I watched them and it seemed to me that a lot of the entertainers were hitting a lot of flat notes. Did anyone else notice that?

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

I did notice that Jan, I just chalked it up to the acoustics in that big theatre. It will never sound like it does on a recording. I thought that Toby Keith's daughter was amazing. I made a comment about her having more fun that Gretchen Wilson and sounding so much better and then Gretchen won the Horizon Award. The others were better, especially Josh Turner who sang a Christian song (I think)...He should have won.

Pine City, MN(Zone 4a)

the song about the long black train? Isn't that a neat song. Love the video.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Oh I missed to see CMA oh shoot so who won the most more awards?

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Yes, the Long Black Train. I had never heard it before, but it sounded like a real nice song. And i loved his voice. :)

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Good morning,
Brad P. is correct on the duet. I can relate to the Red Neck Woman song.
When I am out digging in the dirt, there is no Red Hat Society Lady here. :)

MM he sang on Channel 5's Morning Show. I love that train song too. Do you receive any of the Nashville stations?

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

No, but then haven't toyed around with the radio stations. Actually, I'm sometimes lucky to get Louisville on top of this mountain. LOL.
