A tip for winning "Photo of the Day"?

Northern, IN

This may or may not be a "tip".

My questions is: Is there any logic to posting the pic at 12:01 AM to get a 24 hour count?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I guess maybe it would give you more exposure, but the picture is chosen based on how many people view it ;o)

Thanks Terry,

That must mean you get an automatic computer readout on the most viewed threads so wouldn't that mean that getting the most viewed Forums (my other question) would just be a minor adjustment away?

Again, this is no earth shaking deal, I'm just curious.

It's a matter of creating a report that will "trap" this information, and over what period of time you want to measure "favorite". The daily newsletter does rank the forums in order of posts received (not necessarily number of views - lots of people might read but not post anything.)

The favorite picture is an automated process - we don't get a daily report, but the system analyzes the data and selects the image based on whatever criteria and parameters Dave has specified.

Thanks for the info.

I think the tip is, take a photo of a brug. ;) 'Course, that's a reallly active forum, too!

Where is there a photo of the day?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

There are both PDB and DG photos of the day in each respective newsletter, Joan.

There's newsletters? How come I don't know anything? I must spend way too much time watching TV and looking through viewfinders! How do we get these newsletters?

Pine City, MN(Zone 4a)

Aha, after much poking and searching, I found the place to sign up for it. Duh, 3 or 4 years, I never knew there was a newsletter. I can't decide if I should sulk or put on a dunce cap! :>)

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Awwww, Joan - don't sulk, just be prepared to enjoy that newsletter tomorrow morning ;o)

No one who could post a 1.2 MP picture like "Wings" that you did should ever be found wearing a dunce cap!

;)

Pine City, MN(Zone 4a)

Thanks, both of you! Looking forward to that first newsletter!

Joan - I found I couldn't keep up with the reading on the newsletter daily. So I stopped mine from coming but frequently go look at them. If you want to "catch" up on 3-1/2 yrs of missing them......

Thanks! Guess I'll skim a few and see what I'm missing.
