Extreme Makeover Home Edition

Piqua, OH(Zone 6a)

Do any of you watch this wonderful show? I watched the episode with the autistic boy and his family tonight and cried so much. I usually do not watch the network shows (I'm a big Fox Newschannel fan!) I just wanted to know if anyone else thinks like I do that Extreme Makeover is just the neatest show ever!

I thought that the family was well-deserving of all they received and was so happy for them. They kept saying the mother did so well with their children, but it appeared to me that they were both blessed with wonderful parents. How moving was this show tonight. :) Kathy

Dear Kathy,
My name is Cathy with a C, not Catherine or Kathleen just Cathy. If I live to be verrrrry old I think being called Cathy will be weird. Well, back to our topic!! I agree with you both parents were special and the oldest son what a wonderful husband and father he will be someday!! Some girl is going to be so blessed!!

All right, Mom! You posted your thread! Very fun. This is Mom's first thread, everyone (besides her Welcome Mat one). So please leave a post! :) Poor woman, couldn't even finish her phone conversation with me tonight - she was crying too much watching this show! It is a terrific show, a bit too much emotional for me right now, though (postpartum, you know). lol. Love you, Mom! -- Hugs :)

Dear Hugahosta,
I knew you would be surprised. So was I! It took me a while to figure it out. I think that the last time I posted any strings (inside joke) was during the time I worried about the year 2000 and I was looking up survival stuff for when all our computers and life as we know it would crash!! Love and kisses, hugahosta, your silly mom

I love this show. It seems like every Sunday night it's on I end up crying. That was a cool swing set tonight.

Hi Buckeyesmomgard. (that's a mouthful you know) I'd rather call you Cathy. My real name is Kathleen, my mother is Katharine, my gt grandmother was Katharine, my daughter's middle name is Katharine. hmmmmmmm

Yes, I can't imagine being called Kathy at 80, but then we'll see. Do you remember the Chatty Cathy dolls? :)

Anyhow, welcome.......and you belong to hugahosta and you are a new grandma.....

Well congrats all the way around and many welcomes here at DG. If I can be of any help to you, just give me a post. :) Kathy

By golly yes, my husband and I watch this show every week and if we're not home, he tapes it for us.
This show has brought so much love, joy and hope to so many deserving families. I think it has given the team members some heartfelt love to all too.

My dh and I always have a tissue ready for the last 15 min. of the show. Last nights show was a 2 tissue show. The family was shown on "Good morning America" this morning.

I'll keep watching as long as it keeps helping families in need.

BTW, welcome Buckeyemom.

Yes, this show is just wonderful. The first one I saw was for a dad with eight kids, whose mother had died 4 years rearlier. They were all crammed into this little house. They sent the family to St. Thomas for a week, tore down their house, and built a 4,600 sq ft house for the family. It was a 2 hour special and both DH and I blubbered through most of it Great entertainment, and these peope are oh, so deserving!

It was great. Such a deserving family. The first show I have ever watched of the series. Glad it was that one You could just feel the love that each of the family members had for one another and they were so grateful.

On the name note: My given name is Debby, I have often wondered how silly it will sound when I am 80. LOL.

We watch the show on a hit and miss basis......I often think if they wouldn;t spend quite so much money doing WAY over the top remodels they could help a lot more families. Some of what they do just seems like extreme overkill to me.
I do believe the show has the right idea though.................................

Hello Cathy, nice meeting you! Glad to have you amongst us.

I am not a fan of "reality" type shows, but for some reason I like this one. I think because they are really changing peoples lives. I do have to say that I liked last season much better, they have made some changes this season, I cannot quite put my finger on it, seems like we are seeing less of the construction work, you know what I mean? And I REALLY liked that part.

Sometimes do you get the feeling the people on the bus are really trying hard to squeeze those tears out when they watch the tape on the family?LOL
