Time to vote on the winners of the 2004 photos contest!!

For you newcomers: we DGers have an annual photography contest. Every summer we start allowing entries to be submitted, and then in November we (all the members) go vote on who the pictures. It's an anonymous voting system, so you shouldn't be able to (easily) find out who uploaded each picture until the voting is finished and the winners are announced.

So please go here:

http://davesgarden.com/contest/2004/

and then go into each contest and vote for each category. Each checkbox you enter will be casting a positive vote for that picture. If you have questions, just post 'em here!

best,

Thanks Dave. I have already cast my vote for a couple of the categories. One question that does come to mind.....are we judging based on the quality and appeal of the photograph or on the subject of the photo or does it matter? As an example....one photo could be of a beautiful plant or a fantastic landscaping design but another photo could be better as a photographic image regardless of the subject.

It's completely up to you. You are voting for the one that you personally think should win.

You can, of course, cast multiple votes for the same category. In the end, ALL Votes are counted and the winners are whoever got the most votes.

cool...that's what I assumed :-)

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

When is the judging over?

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

I think Dave had said Nov 30 somewhere....I just can't remember where I saw that.

Acton, CA(Zone 8b)

too late to enter a photo then, I suppose...?

Pine City, MN(Zone 4a)

Might I suggest that this also be posted at the photos site here, as a lot of people there don't read here (including me, most of the time).

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

How does a photo get nominated?

or submitted.
(I think i've already missed the boat)

are all entries showing? or have you selected certain ones?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Answers are in reverse order to the sequence they were asked:

All entries should be showing.

It's a self-nomination process.

And yes, it's too late to submit any new entries.

I never heard about this before - what forum is this announced and when do you start / end taking entries each year?

you can find the contests under the EXTRAS section, found under the HOME tab. You will then go to the Daves Garden Contests & click on 2004 contests. That is also where you had to go to enter your pics.
Hope that helps,
Donna

Thanks Donna - that is one place I always forget to look . ..

I'll try to look in there more often!!
