In which state do I live?

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Ummmm, I apparently have moved to Caseyville, IL overnight. Any idea as to why my city, state changed when I wasn't looking?

I'm still sitting in Oklahoma City, OK, but my city/state says I'm in Caseyville, IL. How'd that happen?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I had the same thing happen. When Dave updated our clocks, the system also looked at ZIP codes we've provided to the PDB. (I temporarily moved back to Owasso, OK ;o) Have you submitted ZIP code reports for Caseyville, IL?

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Yes, I have. That's where my parents live and I'm growing a bunch of hostas and other plants there. Shall I just go in and change it?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Yeppers, that's what I did.

Now if only MOVING were as easy as changing your location, eh? (No boxes to pack, no house to sell or buy.... *grin*)

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Geez, Carla. I was thinking....Smiln moved closer to me, now maybe we can get together, ha, ha...... :( Is Caseyville the same as Casey? I have a cute story from Casey, IL

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

You know, even though the military moves us, it's still a royal pain in the rear. There are pluses, mind you, but it's sure rough at times.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I hear ya. The last move was the only one we've had professional help with, and I still had to pack everything for them to load, move and unload.

In almost 22 years of marriage, we've moved nine times (three times more than 700 miles), plus one "false start" (completely out of one house, starting to move into another one when the sale of ours fell through at the closing table.) We've considered selling this house and finding another one in the same area, but I dread the thought of packing and moving! It would be GREAT if all I had to do was change my location ;o)

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

That's a lot of moving, Terry. Ya'll weren't military were you? Why all the moves? Gracious.

Little Kaley, who is now 4 yrs old, lived in 3 states within her first 3 years of life. How's that for change? :) Fortunately, she's one of those kids who can make friends anywhere, so she's pretty easy to cope with.

Here is a picture of her at a family retreat we went on with a bunch of folks from church. Awesome weekend.

Gosh, she's such a lovely young lady! :)

Do you suppose the other 'overnight moves' will be taken care of globally? I know I was surprised to find Terry temporarily in OK... lol... and I think Horseshoe is in NC but doesn't realize it yet.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Horseshoe does live in NC. I would imagine folks will have to change their own locations, though, just as I did.

Spokane Valley, WA(Zone 5b)

Ohh... my bad! For some reason I thought he was in KY... must've been because of all the KYRU pictures. Nevermind. LOL

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

I'm sure he'd be happy no matter where you "place" him. He's a delight to know.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Gosh! I just noticed after reading this thread that I've also moved. Same state, different town. LOL

I actually do live closer to Belfield, but our address is Medora with a Medora zip code. I have submitted some Belfield zip codes in the PDB though, so that's probably it. I'm gonna change it back anyway.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Why all the moves? Well, I was a Coloradoan, marrying a Tennessean - that prompted the first move. A couple of moves in the Knoxville area, then back to middle Tennesese after DH graduated from college, a couple different smaller moves, then a big move (with a six-week old) from Tennessee to OK. Within a few years, we moved from apartment to rental house to home we built, experienced the now-infamous "false start" move, then moved to a rental house (again) while building a second home. Then finally another big move back to Tennessee ;o)

Probably not that many moves all things considered...

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

I've had 15 moves in 5 states since my college days (which goes something like this: OK, IL, KS, MD, IL, AL, OK). :~)

That includes moving to new apartments, but not temp living quarters (like for a couple of weeks while our house settles). I didn't realize I'd moved that much. Hmmmmm, military retirement looks wonderful even if it is 9 yrs away.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

I noticed all those different addresses (JoanJ, Smilin32, Terry) and thought, what is going on here, did I miss something, or a couple somethings? Went to check again later and they were all back to what they were, so I was beginning to check my sanity! So glad I found this thread and my brain is still intact (somewhat!)

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh, well, we're just making sure everyone is paying attention. :) I didn't know anything about it until someone emailed me and asked me what was going on. I would have failed the "paying attention" test.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Me, too ;o)

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

But isn't it funny that our location should almost reflect our moves because it represents our garden learning curves?

Mine would read NM, TX, MO, NM, AZ, CA, London, North Wales, TX, CA. Have I covered enough zones? Because I am staying here.

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

VA, MI, VA, NJ, NY, Japan, NJ, NY, AK, VA, NC, MD, FL, VA, NC, VA - been here 6 years, think I'll stay awhile and see what I can grow :) if not there is always the road again (geting old for that now though).

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Well, moving HAS presented some problems to me in regards to folks asking me questions about plants I grew in Alabama and now am not able to grow in Oklahoma. I get emails asking, "How did you get THAT plant to grow in Oklahoma?" Well ... Then I have to tell them that I grew it in AL.

I wish there were a way around this, but I can't imagine how. It would have to be something akin to linking a certain span of time with a specific location for the threads, PDB comments and now, emails.
